Hi loves! Happy Valentine's Day!
Appropriately, today we'll be talking about the color pink. I don't know about you, but I love it. When I was little, my room was pink and white, adorned with Minnie Mouse, ruffles, bows and hearts.
How do we make that transition from little-girl-pink to sophisticated-big-girl-pink? This is the question.
Pink is associated with love and emotion. It's a less intense version of red. Interestingly, in it's softest form, the color pink can have a calming effect on an individual at just the mere viewing of the color, almost enough to put one into a passive mood. In it's brightest, most intense form, it acts much like red, in that it can up your heart rate. So be careful (: Pink is nurturing, girlie, empowering and gentle.
I figure this is an appropriate color to talk about since it's Valentine's Day AND the color of the year, suggested by Pantone.
Pink in the home:
1. Pink in a pretty patterned wallpaper, accented with white fixtures.
elle decor
2. Sophisticated lovely ladies' bedroom:
3. Intense and vibrant HOT pink wall:
elle decor
4. White walls and Barbie pink accents:
5. Blushing pink on walls and in window treatments:
6. Neutral colors and pink in flowers only, please!
7. Because it's Valentine's Day, I couldn't help myself. These are the colors I would want for my wedding (:
So, how about you? Dare to use pink in your home?
What are you doing for Valentine's Day??
