Do You Have the Blues?

Blue is on the cool side of the color wheel, right next to purple {my fav, hello!} It's a color that will sooth the soul.  Reminding one of the sea, sky, nature, and rushing rivers.  It's the color of intelligence and confidence.  It makes walls recede, creating the allusion of a bigger space.  A funny tidbit I learned about blue is that it's the most unappetizing color.  In fact, if you ever go to a salad bar or buffet table, a lot of the time they will strategically give you blue plates so you'll automatically not take as much food, because you're not as hungry just by looking at the plate! HA!
What do you think about blue?  Let's take a look at time of my favorite blue spaces...

1. Gray Blue...and LOTS of it:

2. Blue as a feature wall/accent color:

3. White walls with blue glass, pillows, chairs and curtains as accents:

{YES PLEASE to that floor!}

3. Navy blue walls, accenting the beautiful white trim and molding:

4. Light blue
I love how the blue drops down onto the top of the wall, almost like molding.

5. Blue porch ceiling:
Did you know that this keeps bugs from swarming around on your porch??

6. Or do you despise blue in the home but love looking at it outside:
{Amazing home for sale in Orange County, CA, looking over Newport Beach}

So, your thoughts? Do you have it in your home? Do tell!

Last reminder that tomorrow is:

Take pictures of yourself in an outfit you wore this week. Either get creative or just take a mirror shot! It can be your favorite outfit or the outfit that is most YOU. Show off your style.  Do a post about it and link up to my post.  You can use the graphic above in your post to let others know where the party's at! {I just ended that sentence in a preposition. Oops.} The link will open Thursday night and I'll leave it open until Sunday night.  I'm SO looking forward to seeing everyone's outfits! Oh, and if you have tips and tricks with hair, don't be afraid to show off those, too!!  Next week I'll feature some of my favs on my blog (: {with your permission, of course} Questions or comments? E-mail me or comment away.

Happy Thursday, lovelies!

  13. Aw yes, I remember the color theory class. I too found that interesting. They even did a study by putting blue food coloring in food like baked potatoes and most people wouldn't touch it!

  15. So since blue is unappetizing, I definitely want a blue dining room. Yes? No? ;) Definitely a blue bedroom though, mmm soothing...

  16. I am definitely a blue girl! It's my favorite color... and it's in practically every room in our apartment in some form. I really love aquas and gray blues. They might be my favorite.

    That's really interesting about it being unappetizing. Maybe I should invest in some blue dinner plates?!

    Thanks for the post!
