Today's hair tutorial comes from Hailey Hollstein (of Genesis Salon) and her amazingly talented sister and photographer, Katie Grace Photography. We're giving you the full step-by-step tutorial for an Inside-Out Side French Braid.
***
You'll need: Redken Push Powder (the stuff that gives your hair volume!), curling iron, hairspray, bobby pins, comb, rubber band.Step one: Curl your hair to give it texture.
Step two: start to do a french braid on one side of your head by gathering a section of hair on the top of your head. Cross the sections underneath instead of how you would normally cross the sections on top, to create the inside out effect. Watch THIS video for more help on this type of braid!
Step three: add hair to your sections as you go, completing the french braid. For the strands that you add in on the right side of your head, you will grab sections of your hair from the far right side of your head. Bring these strands over and add them to the braid, keeping the line of the braid on the left side of your head. (This keeps it a side braid, as opposed to a regular straight french braid.)
Step four: once you're done with the braid, pull apart the braid a bit, stretching out the strands. This gives is a relaxed look. Finish with hairspray and pin any hairs that are popping out of place with a bobby pin.
