Wedding Bliss: Favor Ideas

I hope you are having a great week! I also hope you're enjoying my wedding posts! Please leave a comment with specific topics you're interested in seeing posts on. I plan to post about our DJ and music choices, dress hunting, bridesmaid style, groomsmen gifts, destination wedding planning tips, honeymoon details, our cake, wedding day details and more. Leave your feedback in the comments and I'll be sure to add your topic to my list!

Today we're dishing on favors. Oh, wedding favors! Something that is not totally necessary for your wedding, but a sweet detail if you can make it happen. To be honest, we were going around and around about whether or not to have a favor. I decided that if I could keep the cost to under $2 per person, we would do it. And guess what?! We found something! I think the key to favors is something simple, sentimental or something has meaning to the two of you.

First I'll show you all of the fun ideas I LOVED while thinking of ideas. I'll tell you our favor at the end of the post! (If you're attending our wedding and want to be surprised, stop reading!!! ;))

honey

let love grow

cherries

mini champagne

coke bottle

tea

succulents

jam

macaroons

So what did WE end up choosing? Since we met at an apple orchard and our wedding is in the fall, we decided on a jar of jam-- apple raspberry jam, to be exact! My mom found the greatest place online called Kitchen Kettle, who makes mini jars of jam specifically for wedding and event favors. I will be making our own label and tying the jar with a silk ribbon. I think it will be beautiful and something the guests will actually use. Hopefully :)

What did you give out as your wedding favors?!

Happy Thursday!

  1. So sweet, Michaela! My sister-in-law had jam as a favor at her wedding, and she wrote a chalkboard sign that said "Spread the Love". So cute!

  2. That's a great idea! I love how the jam ties in with your story. I just went to a wedding that gave small vanilla candles in a jar with a custom label along with matchbooks, which I really liked. At my wedding, the favors doubled as escort cards. We both love coffee, so we created a custom blend at a local coffee shop and had them put the coffee in small individual bags. I put those bags in small linen drawstring bags and tied on the escort cards. I wanted escort cards with a bit of weight to them since my reception was outdoors, so this worked out great.
