Our Wedding: Getting Ready & Bridal Party Portraits

Well friends, if you don't like wedding pictures, then I suggest you skip this post ;) I've been SO excited to finally share our wedding day with you, but because there are sooo many pictures, I've decided to split it up into 4 parts. Today I'm sharing the getting ready + bridal party portraits, all taken by Danielle Poff Photography. She truly captured the beauty and joy of our day so well. I had lots of little details planned for the day to make it extra special, so I'm excited to share some of those things with you!

Our GORGEOUS invation suite from Minted was made even more lovely with calligraphy by my sweet and talented friend Jenny, of Graceline. I love how Danielle laid it on our lace cake table linen to photograph it. Our ring shot was taken on a watercolor floral design by Jenny as well. So special! My mom and I both got our jewelry for my wedding at Haute Bride in Los Gatos, CA. We got to chose our stones and design. So fun!

Some of you may remember that my husband's father passed away last January, so we wanted to honor his memory. We had my grandmother sew a heart-shaped piece of one of his favorite shirts onto two hankies. One for me and one for McCann. The hanky I carried was my great, great grandmother's hanky that she used on her wedding day many, many years ago. My grandma embroidered McCanns dad's initials on them and he carried his in his pocket, while I tied mine around my bouquet. It was our something borrowed and something blue. Something tangible to remember his dad by like this was very special to us.

Getting into the dress! Speaking of dresses, isn't my mom's gorgeous?!

McCann and I gave each other gifts the morning of the wedding-- we had each picked out a perfume/cologne for the other one. I also gave a hanky to my mom, mother-in-law and my dad with a little letter embroidered on it, telling them how much I love them. Though it was our wedding day, they are the ones who helped us get here.

The best girls a bride could have! I cherished the morning getting ready with them, as I don't get to see them all very often. My best friend from college (who without, I wouldn't have pushed through my freshman year), my beautiful sister in laws, a sweet friend who has been with me since highschool and who has helped guide me through life's challenges, one of my kindnest and most joyful friends who has gotten me through living in Michigan winters (ha!), and my business partner, friend, sister, and maid of honor, Ashley. I could not have imagined getting ready for this day with anyone else. The Lord has truly blessed me with the gift of amazing friendships.

We're all wearing our cute Love Ophelia robes, which were their bridesmaid gifts!

First look with my dad! He hadn't seen my dress at all until this moment!

My handsome groom :) We put him in a navy blue tie from J.Crew, that perfectly matched the tux from Men's Wearhouse. (Fun fact: Men's Wearhouse doesn't have a navy tie that matches their rented navy suit...made for some serious frustration and lots of navy ties bought from other stores before I found THE one!) His groomsmen were in gray textured ties from Express.

Just a few floral details before we get to the bridal party pictures, so you can see upclose how AMAZING my bouquet and the guys' boutonnieres were. My florist extraordinaire, Michelle, totally killed it and blew me away with this gorgeous garden feeling she created.

One of my favorite pictures from the whole day is right here! The flowers, the girls' dresses, the colors...ah! Love.

Want to know a little fun fact? It was 96 degrees on the day of our wedding...so needless to say I'm pretty prouf of all of us for not showing the heat one bit in these pictures! #victory ;) Come back next week for our bridal portraits and first look!

Thanks, as always, for being so kind and encouraging about our wedding. And thanks for endulging me by letting me share them here!
