You know you appreciated that title (:
Today my sweetie pie-southern-blogging-bestie is here sharing her favorite design trend of 2011. I have to say, for a non-design blogger, she rocks this post. Here's Megan from Mackey Madness:
I am literally giddy about taking over Michaela's blog today while she is getting ready to head home for the summer! She is one of my absolute blogging bffs...and a reason that my daily text message count has majorly increased! : ) I want to channel my inner Mich and talk about my favorite design trend of the year: wallpaper!
I am certainly no interior designer, but I think that this fun wallpaper trend is amazing. It's a perfect way to add some interest or color to a room...and there are tons of ways that it can be done!
Kinda nervous about using wallpaper? (ME!) It can be done light and dainty:
Or if y'all are feeling fierce, it can be done BOLD and BRIGHT:
Still not feeling convinced? I'm loving it in different rooms and used in different ways:
I would definitely enjoy doing laundry in there...for a day or two at least! : )
I'm loving this framed wallpaper collection.
Who wouldn't LOVE to have a pretty closet like this?
Even I could be creative in this office beauty!
This may be my favorite way...framed wallpaper panels. #divine
Does this look familiar?? It's Michaela's DIY bookshelf wallpaper! I love it!
So, give me y'alls verdict...is wallpaper a yes or a no? Have y'all done it anywhere? Do y'all prefer the bold colors or the lighter look? It's a toss up for me...I think I love it all.
Thanks so much for having me, Michaela! Congratulations on being done with school for the summer!
Run {yes, virtually...} over to Mackey Madness to get more of my BFF's cuteness! See you in July, Megan!
Love,
PS. Next time you think your house is messy, look at these pictures of our apartment. Packing is never an easy task, especially with 4 girls. Here's us keeping it real. These will be the worst, most unattractive interior pictures I will ever post (:
Ha! The joys of moving.
I remember those days of moving from one apartment to another. Have fun! anyway I do love some wall paper..it just depends on where it goes. i love to change things a bit and wall paper makes it a little more permanent.
ReplyDeleteLOVE wallpaper. In a rental, guess I'll have to stick to framing it!!
ReplyDeletelove wall paper..but love it when its toned down and light...love me some megan and michaela in one place. its just right.
ReplyDeleteI think wallpaper can definitely be overwhelming, so if I used it I would pick the light and dainty version! (:
ReplyDeleteYou girls are too funny. I hope you both have unlimited texting, because they sure stick it to you if you go over the limit. hehe
feeling dirty for continuing the title..."till the sweat drop down my balls"
ReplyDeleteanyway! I love Megan! I love that third photo down..the green wallpapaer with the white wood trim..i think that looks beeautiful
i cant wait to own a home of my own so I can take after my daddy-o and decorate it! actually I probably wont be as good as he is, so I'll have to hire you Michaela
and that office photo? AWESOME! I'd also force myself to be creative if I had an office like that!
xoxoox
love love LOVE wallpaper! As soon as we own a place of our own, it's going up! I think my favorite is that green bathroom....swoon!
ReplyDeleteLoving this wallpaper post from Megan! (I love her blog!) Good luck with finishing up the packing. As organized as you try to be, there's always a mess with a move! Congrats on finishing school for the summer :)
ReplyDeleteLoving the understated wallpaper! And I can't wait for all the craziness of moving to end for you, Michaela! I'm ready to hear from you again! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha I hate packing! I feel your pain right now, but once you get back down to Cali it'll make it all worth it!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes - wallpaper. I must say that when I think of wallpaper I think of the strip or unicorn wallpaper at the top of the walls in my room as a child. No no.
BUT, the way it was featured here - to die for! Love it. And you've now officially changed my perception, as I can't wait to add some fun, funky wall paper to one part of my future room!
Love the wallpaper post by Megan! If the wallpaper we'd had way back when we bought the house looked like that it'd probably still be up!! Good luck packing. Be there, done that with Elie...so glad this summer she is finally staying put. Next time, the movers are coming in! LOL
ReplyDeleteSo much fun! I love wallpaper...it adds so much interest to a room! :)
ReplyDeleteI love Megan and this post title! I think wallpaper is great, whether you go light, patterned, or bright and fun! I especially love it on accent walls! Great post, Meg! xoxo

ReplyDeleteUgh, moving is super duper *sucky*...yes, *sucky*! But you were right about Meggy girl, she rocked the socks off that guest post! Wallpaper is so much fun and I love the idea of wall paper in the closet...brilliant!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat guest post Megan, LOVE all that wallpaper, I would have never thought it would be so stylish!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteWallpaper, I wish! But can't because we are renting. I might wallpaper the backs of my bookcases though!
ReplyDeleteLove the last photo, the girl flat ironing her hair the midst of boxes. That is REAL life and its priceless. Good luck on the move. We are heading to your home state this summer for some R&R. My MIL is from CA and we want to show the kids where grandma is from!
Wow this all looks amazing, goodluck with moving :)

i LOVE wallpaper. my mom used it to decorate a lot and my dad still complains about how hard it is to put up perfectly. if you're using a striped paper, consider hiring a professional. you don't want crazy seams and misalinged lines. my fav was the light kitchen with a punch of hot pink!
ReplyDeleteFun to see you over here Megan!!
ReplyDeleteAlthough wallpaper is terrible to remove it is so fun to put up:D That first photo's wallpaper design is my absolute fave!! Would be fun to change up!!
these are all great inspirational images! wallpaper can make such a statement!
ReplyDeletethe title now has me with that song stuck in my head. :)
Dying over those wallpaper pics! Especially that closet, love it! Good luck moving!
