Summery Mantel

A few days ago I decided it was time to switch up our mantel. After seeing my aunt's summery/beachy decor at her house for my cousin's going away party, I had my inspiration!
First of all, look at how cute this little curtain is that she added under her kitchen sink!

I also happen to work at Pottery Barn and we sell big hurricane vases, shells, and starfish.  I knew I could recreate the look for less, though.  Don'tcha love how I just told you you could create a look from PB, the store I work at, for less.  Awesome salesperson (;

Anyways! Here's what I came up with for our mantel:

Fresh hydrangeas from our front yard:

A painting I did added height to the mantel, along with some pretty yellow roses from the yard, too!

I bought these shells on sale at Michael's and filled a glass jar we had at home.  I put it on top of a candle holder to get it up thee a little more! It looks like one piece, and I like that!

Our PB birdie sits near my great grandma's clock:

Summer mantel complete! Ya know, halfway into summer. Better late than never! (:

Have you done anything to spruce up your mantel for summer?
Have a blessed day!
Love,

  2. Love the touch of fresh flowers. Haven't done a summer mantle this year. I am actuall liking the clean look of just the elongated candleholder by itself.
