Welcome to my design and lifestyle blog! I'm Michaela, and I'm thrilled you've found yourself here. Here's a bit about me...
I was born and raised in the Bay Area, California and have a wonderful family; my mom, dad, brother and sweet English Creme Golden Retriever, Hope. I've always had a passion for interior design, I'm told, as my mom used to find me building floor plans out of jenga blocks all over the carpet of my bedroom. I have fond memories of laying on my Minnie Mouse bedding dreaming up my future home, changing my outfits four times a day, drawing house plans on the children's menus at restaurants instead of doing the word searches, and constantly begging my parents to allow me to apply for Trading Spaces at age ten. My passion for design has truly always been apart of my life, so there was no question about what to study in college.
When I was researching colleges, I found myself gravitating toward a school that was two states away and would require me to own multiple umbrellas, but something told me Seattle Pacific University was the school for me-- so I packed my bags. The beautiful brick buildings on campus were only confirmation of my decision. I attend SPU, majoring in interior design, and will graduate Spring of 2013. I'm currently taking my last three quarters at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, as a part of a direct transfer program with SPU. Attending both of these accredited universities was an opportunity I simply couldn't pass up! Studying interior design and everything that comes along with the home fuels my passion to serve people. I'm so blessed to be studying what I know I'm meant to do and can't wait to do what I love for the rest of my life.
I adore so many things in life, but here are just a few: Jesus, my Lord and Savior, lavender, chevron, cupcakes, our puppy, old houses with lots of character, bows and lace, sunshine and dresses, a good 'ole ballgame, trips to Tahoe, sweet friends, handwritten notes, peonies, textures, giving new life to pieces of furniture that were once forgotten, mint and peachy-pink, dessert, and the season of Fall.
My calling is to serve others, my joy is interior design and my passion is to blend the two seamlessly.
Thank you for stopping by and following my journey. I love to make new friends, so don't hesitate to email me!
