While I'm in Florida (for the first time!) on vacation, I wanted to sign off early this week with a little Easter message. With the promise of Spring comes the promise of hope, new life, and beautiful blossoms. Isn't it special how physical seasons coordinate with holidays? Easter is this Sunday, and it's causing me to pause. To remember that there is so much more to Easter than just colorful eggs, hunting for a fun Easter basket, and eating lots of chocolate bunnies.
Easter Sunday is the day we celebrate Jesus' resurrection. After he died on the cross, taking on our shame, guilt, and sin, He rose from the dead, conquering satan, sin and death. Because of His death on the cross, we are able to live with God in Heaven forever. So much grace and mercy has been poured out on us, and we deserve not one bit of it. I'm forever thankful for God's faithfulness in loving, pursuing and calling us to Him.
May you find new hope in Christ as we celebrate this glorious day. He has risen, friends! He has risen indeed.
“Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us.
This is the Lord; we have waited for him; let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.”
(Isaiah 25:9, ESV)
I'll be back on Monday, so until then, enjoy this holiday weekend with your family and friends!
