Get Organized: My Favorite Planner + Giveaway!

You know that feeling when you find the perfect dress, new pair of shoes, or perfect throw pillows for your sofa? Well, I get that feeling when I find a day planner I love and… I LOVE this one I'm here to tell you about today! Lauren, the creative director and owner of Elle & Co., has truly created the most amazing and well-thought-out planner I've ever laid my eyes on. Here's a tidbit about the Daybook from Lauren:

"The newly designed Daybook Planner features weekly and monthly calendar views and easily fits into any three-ring binder. With clean lines and plenty of white space, it's simple design helps clear the clutter for the business woman, college student, and stay-at-home mom alike."

My favorite part about what Lauren has created, though, are the amazing inserts you can buy for your planner. From recipes and meal planning, to client details, prayer and blog calendars, and so much more, she has really thought of everything you need to stay organized!

I'm already smitten with my Daybook and feel so organized. For my line of work, I especially love the Client Details insert. I take one with me to each client meeting and fill out all the fun design details we talk about that day. The design of the inserts and planner alike, are so pretty and clutter-free. {Okay, maybe I'm obsessed:) }

Since it's March already {what?!?!} and I'm guessing a few of us have fallen away from our "get organized" New Year Resolution, Lauren is being so kind and offering one lucky reader a Daybook and inserts! Enter below using the Rafflecopter Tool:

My Bedroom Update: Calendar & Bulletin Board

I've been wanting to redo this corner of my bedroom for a little while now. I loved this painting I did with a verse from Proverbs, but wanted to be able to hang a calendar and some pictures on a bulletin board, since this is where I work. A calendar is necessary! (Even thought I could check my phone or computer, I know.)  I got this flower calendar for Christmas and knew it needed to go in this corner. Here's the mini-redo below:

AFTER...

I love the little update, and especially love the new calendar. I wish it was still in stock so you could all buy one! Do you like having a real, paper calendar to see, or do you just glance at your phone?

Happy Tuesday!

Client Reveal: Preppy Home Office

I'm so, so, so excited to share this client room with you! I've been helping Lisa transform her office over the past few months into something she could scrapbook in, work from, and enjoy throughout the day. Anyone who scrapbooks, I've found out, really needs to have an organizational system that works for them, because there are just so many little things that you need for this hobby! As you can see from the "before" pictures, Lisa just needed a good place to put everything, and a stylish design to go along with it {which is also a good incentive to keep things organized!}

The design we came up with is something really functional with a ton of storage {hello awesome bookcase with storage baskets!} Lisa loves bright pops of color, so we did a gray and navy color palette with splashes of hot pink to accent. I suggested this fun wallpaper from Serena & Lily, but we decided to take inspiration from the wallpaper and instead, stencil the focal wall. Lisa did a great job! We created 4 zones for the office: the bookshelf/scrapbooking supply area, the desk, window seat and bar cart we are calling our "craft cart". Bar carts really are versatile! Of course the best part of this makeover is my happy client. This is what she loves most about her new space:

"The thing I love about my new office space is the way I feel when I go in there: peace and happiness! My old office made me crazy with all the clutter and disorganization. I love the Expedite unit with all the baskets and storage and finally somewhere to put all my scrapbooking albums!  I also love the prints in my office, such a great idea, especially the LOVE one above my desk."

Home Office: The Little Things

I think I've made my love affair for little things very public on this blog. When I say "little things" I would be referring to little trinkets. You know- business card holders, pretty jars, books, pencil holders, mugs, cake stands, trays, pencils, striped straws. Things of that sort :) I'm constantly in search of a new way to display my pens and pencils, jewelry, hair clips, and the like.  If they're displayed on something cute, it doesn't matter what it is...it's clearly sittin' pretty on a dish or tray {even my q-tips are in an old fashioned ice cream sundae jar!}. Lately I've noted that my desk is full of little things, in little jars and platters, that collectively take up a little lotta a bit of space on my work surface ;)
That leads into what I'm talking about today: the home office, desk area, girl cave {as my dear friend calls it}, or the place you blog!  All those little things help personalize and hopefully organize your work space. So let's take a look at some fun & stylish office areas. At the bottom of the post I rounded up some of my favorite office accessories!

So besides the fresh flowers {which is a must to a happy girl getting her work done!} what is needed on or around your desk? Here are some ideas!

Folders and boxes and stylish storage for files is a great thing to have- hides the clutter and keeps things streamlined.

Business or calling card holders are cute and practical, and this monogramed one from Design Darling is perfectly personalized.

What desk is complete without some sparkle?! This could be a book end or paper weight.

Kate Spade always does it right with bright colors and clean lines. Every girl needs some stationary handy to write to her gal pals.
via
No one wants cluttered notepads or thousands of sticky notes on your desk! These striped notepads would do the trick.

And for those curious, here's my desk:

What are your desk essentials?!
Happy Tuesday!
