Details | Shirt: J.Crew (sale!), Jeans: c/o Apricot Lane (James Jeans brand), Shoes: Seychelles, Bag: Tory Burch, Bracelets: gift
I don't feel a need to have lots of designer things. Occasionally I'll buy myself a pair of nice jeans found on the sale rack at Anthro or Nordstrom, but never have I splurged on a bag like I did on the one above. I had a Coach bag found at the outlets for as long as I can remember, and it suited me just fine all the way through college, but when I graduated I knew what I wanted to get myself as a treat. Yep, a pretty new Tory Burch bag. You can bet I saved my pennies for this little lady {I'm talking months, people!}, and she's kept high up on my dresser out of Hope's eye sight. This is my grown up bag and my attempt to make myself look like a real, true designer {and not like I just graduated high school, which I get asked often!} I'm so thankful my parents chipped in a bit as part of my graduation present. I'm so smitten, I think I'll preserve this thing until the day I die.
Enough about the cute bag! I also can't get enough of my anchor tee, which mind you, was a STEAL! This baby is on sale, and I got an additional 40% off the day I bought it. See, I love me a good deal. And anything coastal :)
What's your favorite handbag {in your closet, or on your wish list}, and have you found any great shopping deals recently?!
Enjoy your Thursday! It's my brother's birthday and my parent's wedding anniversary today...so we're off to celebrate!
xoxo

How cute are you with your new bag? :) so cute!
ReplyDeleteLove the bag. I purchased my first Tory bag with a Nordstrom gift card I received this past Christmas. I had owned a few Coach and an MK bag...but I have to say the Tory bag is my favorite by far. I have the same color bag as you, and it goes with EVERYTHING. I have gotten so many compliments on it (it is the Amanda Hobo). And, it has held up like a charm. I am not one to switch my bag with my outfits and it has seen the airport many times in the past 6 months. It looks like I bought it yesterday. Enjoy it...you earned it girlfriend.
ReplyDeleteI love the bag so much! I think light brown bags are so stylish. And what a great reward for all the hard work you put in to graduate and save money too!
ReplyDeleteThis bag is going on my Christmas wish list. I will be telling Chris to save his pennies. I have been looking for a 'grown up' bag and this one looks perfect!
ReplyDeleteLOVE that bag!! Super cute and yes, adult-y. I feel like I find myself with lots of not adult-y bags as well, I need to take a tip from you and start saving! Cute shirt as well!
ReplyDeletelove that new bag! i work near a tory burch and have been wanting to pop in! i am trying to save for a new handbag too - i have a coach one that's also served me well and is very pretty, but i need something larger that can fit an iPad, laptop, business meeting items. i have my eye on some kate spade purses!

I have had Coach bags that I have bought at the outlets for years. Recently I splurged and bought my beloved MK bag. I love your Tory bag! That light brown color is perfect to use year round!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! She is a beaut! My mom and I actually spent a good 20 minutes just admiring her at Nordstrom a few weeks ago! My first college graduate present/purchase was a designer bag as well! It definitely makes you feel like a "grown up", and you'll have such an appreciation for it for years to come!

Love the bag! I have used a coach bag for what seems like forever... I need a new one :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the ring you are wearing on your right hand. Really pretty.
Stunning bag! I love the whole look! As you know, I just had a baby, so I am looking to revamp my wardrobe for more "grown up" looks because so many of my clothes are still from college!! Thanks for the outfit inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteI love this sweet anchor tee and am right there with you on the Tory bag. It's gorgeous Michaela!

Gorgeous!!! I don't love designer handbags, but have noticed I collect canvas totes. My two faves are a monogrammed one from a bridesmaid's gift and
ReplyDeletelove that bag! it's a great investment! you deserve it! a tory bag is next on my splurge list. happy birthday to your brother and happy anniversary to your parents!
ReplyDeleteI love your bag! Worth every penny I would say :)

Love everything about the outfit including that beautiful bag! I was considering a new, fancy camera as a graduation gift next year, but a nice new bag just might be a better idea :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the celebration, you look adorabe here. I used to have a similar shirt and loved it, its a great staple:)

that bag is so luxurious! i remember buying my first "grown up" bag a few years ago. it was such fun. i now have two - one brown & one black, and i'm happy to report they both still look almost brand new. i know they will be staples in my wardrobe for many years to come. i guess buying quality really pays off!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet, as always, but I think your shoes are my favorite!
ReplyDeletei am the same way about not feeling the designer/brand pressure, but that bag, ooooh i would spend some pennies on that bag, too!! gorgeous, i love it! that's my fav shape of bag, too :) you look fabulous, girly!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE everything about this outfit!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful bag! Isn't a wonderful feeling when you've saved up for something for ages and then finally get your hands on it! I am dreaming of a pink Miu Miu madras bag right now but I'm not sure that I can afford to spend that much on it!
