My Life Lately: California Living

I love being home and visiting California. I love so many things about this home town of mine. For one, seeing my family is a treat :) And two, there are so many GORGEOUS places just a short drive away from the Bay Area. Last week my mom and I went to Carmel. Our first stop was the Farmer's Market, per my friend Amanda's recommendation. The David Austin Roses didn't disappoint!

Hope loved the flowers, too!

She also met a white boy poodle who she played with for a minute. So sweet...

My mom is so darn cute, especially with our pup by her side.

See what I mean?! These roses are to.die.for. If I could, I would have bought every single bunch they had available. They're only $7 per bunch!

After the market, we ate lunch at Grasings, one of the most delicious restaurants in town! Next, we took Hope down to the beach to run, and boy did she! The beach, much like my mom, is her happy place, that's for sure.

Again, the cutest.

Another shot, because wow.

Speaking of my friend Amanda, she was so kind and drove to down town Carmel just to say hello, even though she should be on bedrest ;) We said hi for a few minutes and I was reminded just how sweet she is. I wish we lived closer!! Follow her blog, Marshall's Abroad for some delicious recipes and gorgeous photos.

We had a wonderful day! Have you ever been to Carmel, CA?! If so, where is your favorite place to eat and shop?

Have a wonderful day!

My Favorite Guy's California Visit Recap

Happy Monday, friends! I'm back this week with a few fun things, but today I realized I never shared the pictures from when my boyfriend visited California last month. We had the best time going to San Francisco with my parents, Carmel, having my entire family over for a big Sunday dinner, and hanging out with my brother and his girlfriend. The time just flew by and I can't believe I now have to wait until May to see him again! Oh, long distance, how we don't care for you one bit. BUT we do feel confident God has placed this season in our lives for a reason, and we can definitely say we have great communication, know a ton about each other, and are so excited about when the distance will end one day.

Our first outing was San Francisco. I took him to walk across the Golden Gate. It was so fun! The next day we headed back to the city with my parents and took him to see the Giant's stadium {we're a huge baseball family, as my grandpa actually played for the Giants back in the day!} We also took pedicabs down the Embarcadero, had some mint chocolate chip ice cream at Ghirardelli {a must, duh!} and had dinner and drinks at the top of The Marriott building with one of the most stunning views of the city I've ever seen. Exploring your own city through the eyes of someone who's never been here before is really something special.

Sorry for the picture overload in advance!

My cute mom and dad...

My grandpa's name is on this plaque outside of the ballpark! {If you're interested his name is Hobie Landrith and he was a catcher ;) }

My mom captured these sweet pictures of us. So much joy!

We also took him to my favorite beach town, Carmel.  Have you been?! It's so quaint and beautiful! We laid in the sand and basked in the sun, while watching Hope literally frolic around on the shore. It was SO cute!

My sweet little girl...

Sunset in San Francisco from The View...

As I mentioned above, I don't get to see my guy again until May. Yikes! If you have any fun things to do while apart, do tell :) We're always looking for new things to do together on Skype or FaceTime. Every weekend we watch a sermon together from one of our favorite pastors, we play a fun quiz game app almost every night before bed, and I just watched a basketball game at the same time as him yesterday {I know…the things you'll do for love ;) He has watched so many Romantic Comedies for me, I figured I should do something he loved!} Anyways, any advice, as always, is appreciated!

Happy Monday!

Hope you had a lovely weekend, friends! I decided to link up with Jenni for her Blogtember series, sharing what I've been up to in my personal life lately!

Life has been moving at the speed of light, it seems, and I've been staying busy doing some freelance design work for two designers in my city, working with a few of my own clients, e-design clients, and putting finishing touches on my website! Here are a few of the things I've been doing as of late...

1. I had a delicious tea and cookie brunch with Caitlin last week.
2. Last Monday I accompanied Crystal on a Rue Magazine photo shoot at the SF Fairmont, shot by Emily Johnston. (My dress is from here!)
3. One of the amazing chandeliers in the penthouse suite at the Fairmont.
4. My mom, grandma, and two Aunt's took a day trip to Half Moon Bay yesterday. We indulged in dessert at the Ritz Carlton Hotel. SUCH a stunning view.
5. We love our new garden stool for our bathroom from Lulu & Georgia. I take a bath about 2 nights a week, and it's perfect to move near the tub and set my sleepy time tea on.
6. Hope tore her ACL a few months ago, but it has significantly repaired itself over the last few weeks. We had to keep her from jumping up on beds, the sofa, and couldn't even let the poor pup run. So sad! When I wasn't looking, she snuck up on my bed. I can't handle her cuteness.
7. Happy Fall, y'all! (Yep...I just said that:)) Our mantel is decorated and I can't wait to show it to you soon!

Follow me on Instagram for more of my life lately. And let me in on what you've been up to lately in the comments!

Happy Monday!

She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not

Today I'm popping in to share a few quick things I'm loving and one thing we're not diggin' at all around here.

1. I worked on a fun How-To feature for a particularly exciting publication last week with my talented friend and photographer, Nicole Dianne. Here's a sneak peek!

2. This pretty lady and her stunning home tour are in the latest edition of Rue Magazine. Love her, love her style. Check it out! {The whole issue is drool-worthy!}

3.  My best friend is having her baby next week and I'm soooo excited for her! God has truly blessed them with this precious baby boy and I can't wait to see his face, and see Ashley as a mama. My heart is aching to be there when he's born, but September will have to do! You'll get to see his nursery I designed and Ashley executed next week. Stay tuned. Here's a peek for now...

1. Our sweet girl, Hope, has seriously hurt her knee. She tore her ACLS, and we now have the daunting task of keeping her from jumping, playing, running, and walking. She basically has to lay down 24/7 for this to heal. We find out next week if she needs surgery. If you think of her, say a little prayer please :) She's the most fun-loving, energetic dog on the planet, so keeping her still and laying down will be no easy task.

What are YOU loving and not loving this Wednesday?!
