Valentine's Day Inspiration & Decor

Valentine's Day is one day away, so to get in the mood I scoured the web for some fun pink and red inspiration! And after finding these donuts, it will now be my mission on the 14th to find some extra cute Valentine's Day inspired donuts. I kind of want to make this XOXO runner too. How easy would that be?! Just some craft paper and black paint! Maybe these will spark some festivity in you as well:

tablescape / XO table runner / heart cookies / cocktail / flower wall / donuts
Something else I think is SO fun are balloon garlands! They're all the rage right now and I just love how my friend Tara of One Stylish Party did this one:

Will you be doing anything to celebrate or get festive?! I'm so excited to make my husband breakfast. I always set the table really cute (not sure if he cares about that, but I sure love it!) I got the fresh fruit and OJ today at the store...and got sausage, but turns out it was veggie sausage, not meat sausage, which is what I meant to get. Oops ;) Going back to the store tomorrow I guess!

Saturated Pink & Magenta Wedding Inspiration

You might have seen some sneak peeks of this photo shoot we designed for The Bloom Workshop last year in Chicago over on my Instagram last week, but I had to share the whole thing here since it's just so gorgeous! And perfect for the month of February ;)

At each Bloom Bash workshop, Ashley and I design and style a stunning inspiration shoot for our attendees to practice photographing and styling themselves, to then add to their portfolios. This was our first ever all-indoors venue / shoot, so we were nervous about it. But thankfully, the light poured in these tall windows and gave us some pretty gorgeous photos! We were so honored to have it featured on Inspired By This last week. Hope you enjoy it, and if you're a bride-to-be, maybe you can take some inspiration from it for your big day. I'm in love with this bold and saturated color palette!

Speaking of that, I'd love to run a wedding series this year for those of you planning you wedding! Hit me with your questions in the comments or drop me an email :)

Pink & Red Favorites

Thank you for all the emails, comments and messages about yesterday's post. I'm so glad is resonated with a lot of you and encouraged you, too. Sometimes the scariest posts to hit "publish" on are the best ones. Thanks for your encouragement as we shared our hearts.

Alright, it's Tuesday. Can you believe Valentine's Day is next week?! The bright and cheery color palette that comes with this special day is one I don't often wear, but the 14th sure is a good excuse! Truth be told, I'll be wearing a black dress to our dinner date, but during the day you'll find me in pink! I couldn't resist pulling together some of my current color crushes together here.

From festive earrings, to cute socks, soft sweater tops, bold gingham, delicious candles, comfy lounge pants, a beautiful robe, the comfiest and most beautiful underwear, and a few pretty dresses, I want alll of this to magically end up in my closet ASAP ;)

I don't own any red, but pink and coral, that pretty salmon, and event the dark berry color are all colors I can get behind. What about you?

Hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!

Color Palette: Citrus for Summer

Is it just me, or does anyone else CRAVE fruit in the summer? I can't drink water without lemon or strawberries or something fruity in my water bottle! It just makes it so much better. I'm bringing back my color palette posts (yay!) so the first one in the series for summer had to be citrus fruit colors. When I found this image of them below, it sealed the deal. As I sit here scouring the web for yellow, orange, pink, red, and green inspo, I'm sipping on a lemon-strawberry-basil infused water. Yum

Orange & Pink:

Are you as obsessed with this bright, fresh citrus palette for summer?! PS. Any great fruit infused water recipes I need to know about?

Also wanted to remind you that tomorrow is the first day of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!! Some must haves for Fall will be on sale, along with a lot of other designers who don't usually go on sale. Things go SO fast, so be sure you're a cardholder so that you can get early access, which opens tomorrow! Check out the catalogue to get a little preview.

Happy Wednesday!

Blue & White Obsession: For Your Closet & Home

The other day I looked into my closet and realized the majority of my recent clothing purchases are blue and white! I also realized that my the dream house I have concocted in my head also contains a lot of blue and white (with touches of seaglass!) I couldn't get this color combo out of my head, and since it was pretty appropriate for Memorial Day this week, I thought I'd share some inspiration with you!

This tile... LOVE.

After finding this inspo above, I began collecting my favorite blue and white decor for the home and for your closets. The collection quickly turned into an epic inspiration board. Enjoy!

Are you as obsessed with this classic color combo as I am?!

Spring Color Palette & Thoughts

citrus / rug / entry / flowers / pink dress / spring / grapefruit wallpaper

This last week in Michigan was so. darn. cold. As in, 30 and snowing most days. I couldn't believe it. Here we are in April and it's snowing?! When I looked at the 10 day forecast, I couldn't believe that this coming weekend was going to be 70 degrees! A whole 40 degrees warmer in just 7 days. Hallelujah! Hopefully -- I don't want to jinx things-- but hopefully, that will be the official start of Spring. If not, well...I'll just stare at this inspiration board I made and pretend.

This month is about to get crazy-busy, but the arrival of Spring will help ease the stress, I think. I'm not going to hide it, Winter in Michigan is hard. Especially coming from California. Thankfully I lived in Seattle for college for 3 years, so that prepared me for rain and clouds; but nothing could prepare me for the intense cold and all the snow here. I definitely took the sunshine for granted when I lived in California and boy, do I miss it!

Through winter's chill and dark, cloudy days, I learned something sweet. As warmer days are on the horizon this week, I found myself thinking of what a beautiful picture snow is for us. God's word tells us that we are washed clean if we turn to him, like a blanket of white snow. Wow! I'm so thankful for the redemption and grace found in that promise, and for the tangible reminder of what Jesus can do to our hearts. I'm also reminded to not be shaken by my circumstances. The cold weather and dreary skies doesn't have to determine the amount of joy I feel. I can remember the promise of SPRING and of the new life it will bring.

In honor of the warmer temps on the horizon, I created a beautiful citrus-inspired color palette. It's so warm and inviting!

Here's to Spring sticking around!

Decorating with Green

IMAGES | one / two / three / four

Happy Saint Patrick's Day! IN honor of the day, I'm showing you how you can decorate with green! I tend to favor the mint-seafoam green shade, but seeing the emerald green about does make me love it! I found a bunch of small ways you can bring green into your home below... enjoy!

Do you decorate with green?!

Hues of Pink Home Tour

I have a tendency to get overly excited about houses, architectural features and beautiful things. For example, one time my friends and I were driving around back in high school, as my one girlfriend wanted to show me this amazing home in her neighborhood. Upon seeing the home, my jaw dropped and I could stop saying "Oh my word, it's so pretty. Ohhhh my gosh. They have a gazebo! I love it. I love it!" While the other 3 girls just saw it as another house, I saw it as a beautiful piece of art.

That's how I see this home I'm sharing with you today. Few homes we're seeing nowadays are filled with this much wonder. Bright pink in almost every room of the home? That's bold and super awesome. The homeowner also has one REALLY nice husband. I'm sure he has a man cave somewhere in there!

Normally I only share a few images from home tours I love, but for this one, I couldn't help but share them all. Traditional Home completely captured my heart with this house. From the amazing gold light fixtures, to the varied patterns, crazy chartreuse colored cabinets (I mean, I couldn't live with that, but they are ah-maz-zing) and the poppy wallpaper, it's nothing short of a show stopper. You know how you always want a few "conversation pieces" in your home? Well, this house has five in almost every room, but they don't overwhelm the eye in most cases. The house still flows without feeling cluttered or small because of the large doses of color and pattern.

What's your favorite part of this home?

Guess what? Speaking of home tours, I'm moving into my new apartment in Michigan today! I can't wait to show you the before pictures next week! Follow on instagram for updates :)

Happy Friday!
xoxo
