My Spring Headband Collection: MND x Ronni & Blake Co.

If you know me, you know my favorite accessory is a headband. It has been since high school. I'm so glad they've been back for a few years now, of course in a new, more updated way than the ones I used to wear. (And man, they used to kill my head back then...but I still wore them ;))

Probably a year and a half ago I discovered the cutest headband shop and was thrilled to find out she was local to Grand Rapids, Michigan! I immediately bought 3 headbands just based off my friend's recommendation, who said they were so comfortable. She was SO right. No headaches or anything!

Then I learned more about the company, Ronni Blake & Co., and was delighted to find out the owner, Carlye, first started her company as a way to help fund her IVF journey to start a family. This made me even more excited about supporting a small business, as now we had the shared life experience of infertility.

Carlye and I connected over instagram, then met at a local market last summer (where I bought 2 more headbands-ha!). She is so sweet, fun, creative and talented! Last fall I reached out to her about going to coffee to see if she'd be willing to share her fertility journey with me, as we were on this unknown path. During coffee that day, the idea of creating a headband collection together was born! (Fun fact: little did I know, I was actually pregnant that day!)

We knew we wanted the collection to be about more than just headbands, though. We both know these aches and the grief of waiting, so our hope was for it to bless some women who are going through fertility treatments, infertility, or loss.  A portion of all the sales will be used to bring some joy to some ladies in our community walking these roads through a surprise flower arrangement, coffee on their doorstep, a goodie basket of some fun products, and more!

Okay, let's see these cute headbands!

You can use the code MNDSPRING15 for 15% off TODAY ONLY!

Our collection has five headbands, all perfect for spring and summer. I sent Carlye photos of interiors, fabrics and dresses I loved and she worked to find some of the cutest fabrics inspired by those pictures.

The Marigold

This happy, floral block print features white flowers and green/blue leaves, against a pretty neutral clay/terracotta colored background. The Marigold is perfect for spring, all the way through fall!

The Nantucket Embellished

Calling all blue & white lovers! Our Nantucket headband puts a preppy and elevated twist on the classic blue and white stripe with the addition of hand-placed pearls. You can wear this headband throughout the year, but she has an extra special feeling in the warmer months paired with sundresses, casual denim, neutrals, and espadrilles.

The Eisley Eyelet

There is nothing more classically "summer" than the perfect white eyelet! What makes the Eisley so special is the way her texture looks like little flowers. You can truly wear this cheerful headband with any outfit. Not to play favorites, but I think she's my favorite ;)

The Flora

An all-over floral pattern that instantly adds joy to any outfit. White blooms are intertwined with greenery against the light blue background to create the perfect accessory for spring and summer! Pair Flora with a white or blue sundress to dress it up or throw it on with a neutral, more laid-back look.

The Poppy

Classic, feminine stripes in our subtle blush pink hue makes Poppy wearable with nearly anything! This is our second most neutral headband, next to the Eisley Eyelet.

These headbands are extremely flexible and they're shorter behind the ears, so they don't sit on your mastoid bone behind your ear. These two things combined are what make them so comfortable, you literally won't even know you're wearing it!

We hope you love them as much as we do! Let me know if you have any questions :) As always, thank you supporting me in all my creative endeavors. It means so much!

Spring Dresses for Easter & Mother's Day

If you've been around here for long, you know I am a big dress fan! I would wear a dress everyday of the year if I could. They're so easy to throw on and look complete. They're also very comfortable and breathable! Today I've rounded up some pretty dresses for spring. They'd be great for Easter or Mother's Day coming up! I love that you can wear dresses with sneakers or sandals-- dress it up or down. It will be especially nice when it's hot but raining outside (always a conundrum for me in Michigan!) Tennis shoes it is ;) I've been eyeing this pair of white sneakers for about a year now. Probably time to say yes to them!

Top Row: polka dot knee length, pink eyelet midi, striped headband, floral knee length, navy jumpsuit
Second Row: bow sleeve blue gingham, coral eyelet knee length
Third Row: peasant floral midi, woven cross body purse, blue smocked ruffle midi
Las Row: peach jumpsuit, light blue knee length, purple nail polish, coral nail polish, white sneakers

Below are some more cute options!

Happy Thursday, friends! Hopefully spring is on its way soon :)

Two Easy Summer Styles

I hope you're having a great week! I'm still here in California visiting my family, seeing my parents' new house, and saying goodbye to my childhood home. I fly back to Michigan on Friday and it's bittersweet!

I'm excited to share a couple fun, easy-to-wear summer styles today. To me, these feel so effortless and put together! Just what we want in the summer months.

First up is this really lightweight, embroidered top. I LOVE embroidery! A couple years ago when I took some time to think about words I wanted to describe my style as a way to help with my buying decisions, the phrases "special detail" and "feminine" both came to mind. I love a special detail, whether it be a bow, an eyelet material, ruffles, or embroidery. This one stood out to me right away!

I'm also sporting the headband from last week's post again because that's how cute it is. This time I styled it differently and left some hair out in front of the headband. Which look do you prefer?!

For the second look, I paired a super simple racer back tank with a cute pair of high waisted pull-on shorts. I love this waistband's ruffly detail! This outfit can be paired with sneakers like I did here, sandals or even wedges if you want to dress it up! (Cameo by Lincoln's tail ;))

I threw on a denim jacket with it as well. Cuffing the sleeves gives it a finishing touch!

Spring Fashion: Smocked Midi Dress Two Ways

I'm back with another fun spring outfit for you! I fell in love with this black smocked midi dress right when I saw it. It's simple and has a classic cut and has pockets-- everyone's favorite feature! I feel like this midi length is such a flattering cut on many shapes and sizes. It also makes for a really easy, never-have-to-think-about-it style when you're bending over, reaching up or doing normal life things ;)

I styled this two ways. First up was with my slide on white converse!

These Amazon sunglasses are my favorite!

Then to dress it up just slightly, I threw on my favorite sandals. Yes, these are an investment (they were a birthday gift from my family one year!) but they go with everything!!

This dress is sold out in black, but I found lots of similar options at a bunch of price points!

Do you like this smocked look as much as I do?

Happy Spring!

Spring Fashion: Lightweight Ice Cream Sweater

I shared on Instagram last week that one of my potentially "unpopular opinions" is that I prefer Spring over Fall. I know, I know...I'm crazy ;) But there's something about everything coming back to life that is just so good for my soul. My favorite season of all is Summer, but Spring is a close second and I'm so glad it's here.

It's finally in the 50's and 60's here in Michigan, which means it's time to switch out our wardrobes again. I love light sweaters for this time of year and I recently found the cutest one, which really catches the vibe of spring and summer. See it?! They're little ice creams! I'm in love ;)

I love a front tuck, and this slightly shorter sweater cut is made for it.

Are you all on the mules bandwagon yet? This is my first pair and I really like them! These are from Target and they're surprisingly comfortable and easy to walk in.

DETAILS | ice cream sweater / jeans / mules / similar purse (major sale!)
