March Favorites

How are you all doing? I haven't blogged in a week or so-- just taking time to try to figure out what the new normal will look like around here. I thought, to get back into the swing of things, it'd be fun to share some of my favorites for March. Notice they are all cozy ;) 
Later this week I'm going to share a recap of my trip to Northern California to visit my family (which sort of got rained on by the virus, but I'm still glad I went and am so grateful to be healthy!) and I might also share a couple of things I'm going to be doing during our Shelter in Place.

 blue light glasses (for your eyes now that we're probably all spending more time on our phones and screens)/ neck warmer (I use this thing about 6 times a day! Pop it in the microwave and put it on your back, shoulders, stomach...whatever you want! It is so soothing and warms you right up) / scrub and body butter (for dry hands that you keep washing)

{2 of My Favorite Things} Ashley Brooke Designs Giveaway

Okay, there's no denying it. This truly is the best, most cheery mug I've ever seen! You all know I'm such a morning tea person, so this adorable mug from Ashley Brooke Designs made the perfect addition to my morning routine. First of all, this room above is my current obsession. I need a purple table in my life ASAP!

I'm so happy it's Friday and almost the weekend! The last two days I have felt so completely sick from these new vitamins I started (and have since now stopped!)  I was limited to only being able to keep down crackers, toast and rice. Thankfully I'm feeling much better now and just in time, because I'm a busy girl today! This weekend will be filled with oodles of homework...hello finals week!

Homemade Facial

Because of the direction of my blog, I've been thinking a lot lately. My blog isn't primarily a fashion blog, {and there are tons of amazing fashion blogs out there!} I think I'm going to start taking Fashion Friday in a new direction. I'll still be doing some outfit posts, but just not every Friday. Ya know, to keep you guessing (: I hope that's okay! 


Today, I'm mixing it up. And I mean that quite literally.
I recently came across a recipe to make your own at home facial, so I gave it a whirl! Here's what you need:


1 Banana
1 tspn Honey
A pinch of lemon or lime


First, wash your face! I swear by dermalogica. This is their basic face wash:

Then, mix up your ingredients:

Next, apply the mask.  This picture will remain small for obvious reasons! This is far past embarrassing, but how could I not post the picture of the end result?! It's definitely less terrifying in black and white. And don'tcha worry, the chunks are bananas...not skin issues!

I could only stand to leave my on for around 5-8 minutes because of the weird texture, but when I washed it off, let me tell ya...my face was as soft as a baby bootie.


I finished off my face with a moisturizer and this awesome spot treatment. It's a sulfur cream that you put on blemishes over night and it totally helps clear up the problem areas. Life saver!

So, that's how I spent my Thursday evening (:  Give it a try!

Cape Cod Cottage

Yesterday I had my wisdom teeth consultation and it was enough to make me nauseous just sitting through it. I think I was pale. #badwithpain #wimp #terrified.  If you follow me on Twitter, you know that right after that little fiasco I walked straight across the street to get my toes done.  I felt much better after that, of course!  So from now until Monday morning, when I go under the knife {mild exaggeration?}, I'm going to think positively.


I will be fine. Everyone gets this done some time or another. And everyone is fine. So I will be, too.
It's working already (:


So because of my rough afternoon/ I hung out with friends last night until way too late, I'm going to show you my absolute favorite kitchen right now.  I can hardly contain myself. If I was building a home right now, I'd want a lot of these features included in my kitchen!

Favorite things about the space? The charcoal painted island, copper pots and pans displayed almost as art, crisp white cabinetry, pops of rich color {perfect colors for a kitchen, too!}, and the old fashion looking stove/oven. Seriously amazing.

Two of My Favorite Things

I sure did! Cupcakes are on my list of Favorite Things.  We had the best cupcakes ever: Cupcake Royale, Ballard.  Look at their website, it'll be sure to inspire you (and make your mouth water).  If you're ever in town, it's a must! (Clearly I enjoyed it, as you can see only half of the cupcake is left.)
