Fave Friday + Weekend Links
Friday, March 15, 2013
First of all, this room above is my current obsession. I need a purple table in my life ASAP!
I'm so happy it's Friday and almost the weekend! The last two days I have felt so completely sick from these new vitamins I started (and have since now stopped!) I was limited to only being able to keep down crackers, toast and rice. Thankfully I'm feeling much better now and just in time, because I'm a busy girl today! This weekend will be filled with oodles of homework...hello finals week!
For now, I thought you could feast your eyes on some of my most recent favorite rooms all found on our favorite time sucker, Pinterest :) Below are also some links for your weekend!
one // two // three // four // five // six // seven //
Too much lovely. You can follow me on Pinterest to see what else I'm loving! Okay, onto the weekend links:
- See that delicious Lillet Rose Spring Drink drink up there? You can find the recipe here so you can enjoy some bubbly over the weekend.
- My BFF's photography was featured on The Everygirl yesterday. Such a proud friend!
- This stunning friend of mine got married and her wedding pictures are gorg :)
- These are cute treats to put in Easter baskets!
- Another talented friend was featured in HGTV magazine. I have some seriously amazing friends.
- Get a high end look for less with this round up.
Okay! That does it. Off to have a wonderful (and hopefully not sick) day!
Happy Friday!
xoxo

Homemade Facial
Friday, August 5, 2011Because of the direction of my blog, I've been thinking a lot lately. My blog isn't primarily a fashion blog, {and there are tons of amazing fashion blogs out there!} I think I'm going to start taking Fashion Friday in a new direction. I'll still be doing some outfit posts, but just not every Friday. Ya know, to keep you guessing (: I hope that's okay!
Today, I'm mixing it up. And I mean that quite literally.
I recently came across a recipe to make your own at home facial, so I gave it a whirl! Here's what you need:
1 Banana
1 tspn Honey
A pinch of lemon or lime
First, wash your face! I swear by dermalogica. This is their basic face wash:
Then, mix up your ingredients:
Next, apply the mask. This picture will remain small for obvious reasons! This is far past embarrassing, but how could I not post the picture of the end result?! It's definitely less terrifying in black and white. And don'tcha worry, the chunks are bananas...not skin issues!
I could only stand to leave my on for around 5-8 minutes because of the weird texture, but when I washed it off, let me tell ya...my face was as soft as a baby bootie.
I finished off my face with a moisturizer and this awesome spot treatment. It's a sulfur cream that you put on blemishes over night and it totally helps clear up the problem areas. Life saver!
So, that's how I spent my Thursday evening (: Give it a try!
Do you know any other at home facial recipes? Do tell!
Happy weekend, loves! What are you doing? I'm super excited to share a few things next week I've been working on lately.
Love,

Cape Cod Cottage
Thursday, June 16, 2011Yesterday I had my wisdom teeth consultation and it was enough to make me nauseous just sitting through it. I think I was pale. #badwithpain #wimp #terrified. If you follow me on Twitter, you know that right after that little fiasco I walked straight across the street to get my toes done. I felt much better after that, of course! So from now until Monday morning, when I go under the knife {mild exaggeration?}, I'm going to think positively.
I will be fine. Everyone gets this done some time or another. And everyone is fine. So I will be, too.
It's working already (:
So because of my rough afternoon/ I hung out with friends last night until way too late, I'm going to show you my absolute favorite kitchen right now. I can hardly contain myself. If I was building a home right now, I'd want a lot of these features included in my kitchen!
The fab little number sits inside this darling cottage:
Love the idea of concealing the fridge with the same cabinet appliqué on the appliances.
via
Favorite things about the space? The charcoal painted island, copper pots and pans displayed almost as art, crisp white cabinetry, pops of rich color {perfect colors for a kitchen, too!}, and the old fashion looking stove/oven. Seriously amazing.
Is this kitchen making you swoon, too?
Love,

PS. I'm off to hang out with Cristin, the talented blogger behind Simplified Bee. So thrilled she's allowing me to shadow her this summer! (:

Love and My Favorite Spaces,
Two of My Favorite Things
Saturday, October 16, 2010I sure did! Cupcakes are on my list of Favorite Things. We had the best cupcakes ever: Cupcake Royale, Ballard. Look at their website, it'll be sure to inspire you (and make your mouth water). If you're ever in town, it's a must! (Clearly I enjoyed it, as you can see only half of the cupcake is left.)
I'm so excited to show you some projects I've been working on lately, starting Monday! So come on back (:
For now, here's another one of my favorite things. This is what's occupying our window cill:
A sunflower. Very fitting, because surprisingly the sun is still shining here! This California girl is happy (:
