Our 2018 Christmas Porch

I've always wanted to do something with greenery garland on our front porch! Finally I decided this was the year and I think it's pretty cute how it turned out :) The left side of the greenery was a little more sparse, so I've since wired up some more on that side. Whoops! In years past we've put out a small fake tree with lights on it on the porch, but this year I just decided to keep it simple with some lanterns, the greenery and the wreath.

The wreath ribbon is from our tree ribbon a couple years ago and I think it'll always be a favorite of mine! The metallic deer and trees are so pretty. I love the little sparkle it gives against the green. All of our greenery is from Trader Joe's (are you surprised?! ;))

Bless my husband who stood in the freezing temps with me to get the garland up!

I'd LOVE to put poinsettias out on the porch for some color, but they would die in a matter of hours from the cold :( To mimic the greenery down here, we also draped some on our balcony up above and hung a wreath there as well. I think it looks pretty charming!
Do you decorate your porch? I'm so thankful that though we live in an apartment, we still have our own front door and balcony area!

Our Fall Porch 2018

Right when fall feels like it's officially official here in Michigan, we get an 80 degree day randomly ;) (not a pretty 80 either; a stormy one!) Last week I finally got around to decorating our front porch for the new season. I gave myself a budget and stuck pretty close to it! I wasn't expecting to get a new doormat, but when I found this one for $9.99, I couldn't pass it up, so I went a little over budget because of it. Oops! #worthit

The look started with my Graced Designs fall wreath. It has neutrals with a touch of light pink in there. I just love it! When my neighbor gifted me with her planter boxes for my upstairs balcony, they had some yellow and burgundy in them (which I usually don't go for, but they are so lovely!!) so I knew I needed to tie in the burgundy somehow. I went with neutral and burgundy mums + white and light orange pumpkins to tie everything together! I already had this lantern from last year's winter porch.

Can we talk about how stoic Lincoln gets when he's in pictures?! Ha!

I love the shape of the white pumpkin that's sitting below the mums below. To make things look a little nicer, I wrapped the mums in white butcher paper and tie them with bakers twine.

I'm all about the odd numbers in decorating! 5 pumpkins, 3 mums, 1 lantern. It makes for a nice set up.

I love my wreath SO much! You can use code MICHAELANOELLE for 10% off your wreath order at Graced Designs!

As DIY as I get around here lately ;)

I think our little porch says "Happy Fall!" :) Let me know how you're decorating your porch (if at all!) in the comments!

Favorite Fall Porches

Thank you for all the birthday wishes yesterday! You sure know how to make a girl feel loved :)

I shared our fall decor for #thebeelabode a few weeks ago, and I'm hoping to add a few more Thanksgiving touches. If I was home more days during the fall this year (instead of traveling for Bloom!) then I would have gone all out and made our porch look like something out of an Autumn dream. Instead, I found a bunch of cute porches I love as inspiration for next year....

Which is your favorite? Do you keep your fall decor up after Halloween or is it Christmas right away?! I like to enjoy Thanksgiving first, before breaking out the Christmas decor :)

Favorite Front Porches

The front porch or entry way to your home is the first impression your guests will have upon walking up to your abode. I LOVE porches, front patios, walk ways, and stoops because you can really see people's personalities come out right away. If you're a lover of flowers, you can bet you'll see a bunch of blooms on the porch. If you love holidays, your front door normally has a wreath of some sort, celebrating the next holiday in the line up. You're crafty? You probably made a "welcome" sign for your door. There's so many pretty things you can do at the front of your house (and even your apartment-- think a sweet door mat!) Here are a few of my favorite porches.

I'm obsessed with Dutch doors {the doors above that are split into two, perfect for opening the top part in the Summer!} If I ever get the chance to check off one of my bucket list items of designing and building my own house, there will definitely be a Dutch door somewhere in the house!

Since we're talking about front porches, here are some of my favorite doormats. I still need to choose one for my apartment:

Happy Wednesday!
