A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of designing a dining room and entry way for a sweet client. I always love the chance to receive pictures of a room and be able to transform it (: I immediately loved the architecture of Amanda's space. The chair railing, high ceilings and arches stole my heart:
We knew we were keeping the dining table and buffet, but other than that, we needed to embellish! She told me she loved gray...dream come true for this girl!
Here's what we ended up with for the entry:
And the dining room:
Entry: Adding a colored piece of furniture is a great way to add a whimsical element to any space. This entry console will be paired with an occasional chair {perfect for slipping shoes on!}, as well as a stunning mirror for that last look before running out the door. New lighting, a rug, and some accessories and this entry will be inviting in no time.
Dining: We painted the walls a soft gray, added a steel gray geometric rug, flowy curtains with a subtle pattern to dress up the windows, a lamp for the buffet, a small gallery wall above the buffet, floating shelves on another wall for fun accessories and a new pendant light. I also suggested she paint the entire chair rail white. This will highlight the great feature of the room, and look crisp and clean next to the gray on the top half. I just know the room will look so fresh when it's all spruced up!
I can't wait until I get a peek at the paint job after she's done (: What a difference some pretty gray and white will make...dontcha think?

PS. Thanks to one of my friends {and sponsors!} Jessica, over at Creative Index, I have blog buttons over on my sidebar. I'm in love with them. Aren't they great? Jess is a fabulous graphic designer and blogs about life, what inspires her, pretty little finds, artists, events & fashion. She's sweet and stylish. Double threat (: Go visit her now! And if you're in the market for a new blog design...she's your gal!
