New Plantation Shutters in the Bedrooms!

I'm back today showing off our new and improved window treatments. Last week I showed you our new Roman Shades in the family room and breakfast nook from Blinds.com, and today we're revealing my bedroom and guest bedroom's new plantation shutters. We've had mini blinds {no no no!} since our family moved in about 13 years ago. Finally, I convinced my parents to tear those suckers down and replace them with something much more classic and pretty. We went with the Woodlite Shutters from Blinds.com and absolutely love how they turned out. The process was simple, too, which I always love. We got an installer to come out from Blinds.com to measure the windows, he gave me the measurements, I called to order the shutters and shades, they arrived at my doorstep 2-3 weeks later and fit perfectly. The same installer came back over, installed everything in about 2.5 hours. Easy as pie.

On to the fun stuff. We all love a good before and after, so we will start with my bedroom:

And the AFTER!  We just hung the curtains right back over the shutters and they're beautiful.

Now for the guest bedroom… (Notice Hope's sad face!)

Beautiful new AFTER! (Happy Hope!)

This girl loves laying on the guest room bed, peering out the window that faces the front of our home. She's a great watch dog. We just open up the shutters and she has the perfect view. I can't believe what a difference the shutters make, can you?! It makes the room feel more "finished" and we even notice it being brighter {because of the white of the shutters.}

Do you like the transformation as much as we do? Have I convinced you to say gooooodbye to your mini blinds? Hopefully ;)

Happy Thursday!
xoxo

  2. I would have plantation shutters throughout our home if cost weren't an issue (they are so dang expensive). We have wood blinds now, but I do plan to start changing them out soon as they are getting old.

  5. I love the plantation shutters. We wanted them in our master bath, however, after pricing them out, we just couldn't do it. Plantation shutters were $1200+. White wood 2" slat blinds were $300. Wish they were more reasonable!

  9. I love plantation shutters! They are totally not a thing in New Zealand, which makes me sad. I love how they diffuse the white light into the room. (P.S how satisfying is it to make changes on your parent's house?!)
