Inspired Room Tour: My Dining Room

I'm so excited to give you a little tour of my favorite room in my apartment, as a part of The Inspired Room Home Tour in celebration of Melissa's new book launch. My favorite room is probably my dining room (which is also connected to my living room and kitchen.) I love the vaulted ceilings, so I accentuated them with long, gold patterned curtains. Because the space is tiny, I had to get a custom table made. I actually drew out the design for a local handy man who made it for me! Then I found a pair of chairs, a small buffet for dining / entertaining storage and hung some metal work art. To continue adding height, I dressed the buffet with candlesticks and set my favorite gold tray on there along with pretty cocktail glasses.

Another thing I love about this room is the amount of light it gets. There's also been some fun times around this table-- I adore having my high school girls come over for bible study, I loved sharing meals with my mom when she visited, and it's always a treat when I make dinner for my boyfriend and I, enjoyed at this table. Breaking bread with your people is something to be cherished and not forgotten.

Melissa's book, The Inspired Room, is such a gorgeous coffee table book, but aside from that, it's filled with helpful design insight, her decorating process, sweet anecdotes and inspiring pictures of her home. Last week at Bloom we had a cocktail party celebrating her book launch and I was giddy to finally get my hands on the book! So much love went into these glossy pages. Friends, you're going to LOVE it. And yep, that's copper/gold foil on the front cover!! Dying.

Stunning...
