She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not: Something Charming

Happy Wednesday! While I'm visiting my friend Megan, I have a sweet friend here dishing on her loves and love-me-nots. Meet Joelle of Something Charming.

Joelle is a talented wedding planner, fellow creative, and overall really stylish gal. You're going to adore her! Take it away...
***

Hi friends! My name is Joelle, and I blog over at Something Charming. I'm taking over Michaela's lovely blog today so that I can share a few of the things that I'm loving (and a couple of things that I'm not loving) these days.

1 // I live in Ventura, a small-ish beach city in between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, and I'm loving it these days. California falls aren't like the rest of the country, but Ventura falls are a bit better than the rest of Southern California. I'm loving how sunny and crisp it is out these days, and how autumn just seems to bring my entire community together. I love it!

2 // I found a bunny sweater at Target over the summer, and since then I've been kind of obsessed with clothes and accessories with animals. Weird? Perhaps. I just can't get enough. I have to say that I can't decide whether my zebra scarf, hedgehog sweater, or dinosaur earrings are my favorite these days.

3 // Though I was born and raised in California, I have a fascination with anything Southern. Obviously that means I had to get the Southerner's Handbook as soon as I saw that it was out!

1 // I'm a big reader, and I've been waiting for the last book in the Divergent series for over a year now. Allegiant finally came out last week, and to say that I'm disappointed is an understatement. I honestly liked the first book more than the Hunger Games, so I was really upset when I read this one. I seriously need a new world and love story to immerse myself in now!

2 // There are so many amazing things about being self-employed, but money is NOT one of them. I think we all go through phases of our lives where money is more of a concern than others, and I'm definitely in one of those phases. I'm a wedding planner, and my wedding season just ended, so here's to hoping I can sign more clients soon for next year to get me through the rest of this year!

Thank you SO much Michaela for letting me share my favorites these days! Hope you all have a wonderful season!

I have to say I love animal printed textiles, too! Thanks for sharing, friend.  Stop by Something Charming today to say hello!

What are you loving {and not loving} this Wednesday?

She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not: Emily A. Clark

I'm excited to bring you one of my favorite blogger's and mama's in blogland. Meet Emily of Emily A. Clark
Emily's blog is the first design blog I ever read and I timidly emailed her one day three summer's ago asking for blog advice. She sweetly responded and gave me the biggest boost of encouragement, which I'll always be grateful for. This stylish mom has the most beautiful 5 kids, impecable taste and a home office that I wouldn't mind residing in while working and sipping some tea :) She's here today to share her loves and love-me-nots!

Hi all!  I’m happy to be a guest for this fun little series.  It has made me realize how random my likes and dislikes really are :)  So, without further ado….
1. Having a big family.  Although our twins (the fourth and fifth additions to our family!) aren’t quite yet a year old, we’re already seeing how fun—and chaotic—being a a party of seven can be.  There’s never a dull moment, and it’s always entertaining to watch people in restaurants start counting heads when we come in with our crew.

2.  Shopping for junk.  I guess the appropriate word here would be “thrifting.”  I just like the thrill of the hunt and searching through lots of stuff to find a treasure with hidden potential.  It’s like a game.  I like flea markets, yard sales, thrift stores, my garage. . . .

emilyaclark.com

3. Stripes.  I like wearing them, and I like putting them on my walls.  I think they’re bold and classic all at the same time.

4. Judge Judy.  I’m officially publicly declaring my love for Judge Judy.  My family thinks I’m weird because I record every episode that comes on during the day (and there’s several. . . ) and watch them at night.  I find her thoroughly entertaining.  She’s tough, she’s smart, and she doesn’t have time for nonsense.  I like that.

1. Nicki Minaj.  As much as I like Judge Judy, I dislike Nicki Minaj.  I wasn’t that familiar with her before this season of American Idol (I’m old), but I find her completely annoying.  She seems so condescending to the contestants, and I don’t get the whole look.

2. Facebook.  I do have a Facebook account.  But, honestly, the way it’s taken over our world and the way we interact with each other kind of wears me out.  I mean, why would I need to know what the person I met at summer camp in 1991 had for dinner yesterday?  It’s puzzling.

3.  Texting.  I’m bad at it.  And, it stresses me out when more than a one-word answer is required.

And, I just realized that my dislikes make me sound like I’m 82. . . Oh well, it’s been fun :)

Thanks, Emily! I'm right there with you on loving shopping for junk. I think my stripe obsession is a very real thing as well :)

She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not: Link Up #2

Hi loves! It's Wednesday and this is the second installment of She Loves Me as a link party! Feel free to link up under the post and play along :)

Here's what I'm lovin' and not diggin' this week...

She Loves Me:
1. Strawberry anything.
By far my favorite fruit- always makes my mouth water!
via
2. Colored Cabinetry.
Especially loving the turquoise, blue, seafoam trend. Aren't we all?! Plus, this exposed beam work is to die for.
via
3. My CAD/Photoshop class.
I put this number together in photoshop the other day during class. It's a little girl room, so I imported my dresser into the room! Way too fun.
via @michaelanoelle instagram
4. This AWESOME braid secret via The Beauty Department.
Before you braid your hair, braid one of the three individual strands.  Then braid all of your hair like normal. This gives the braid texture and keeps it in better! I've done it twice this week and LOVE it.

5. 14 days until I go visit my boyfriend in Michigan!
I couldn't be more excited!! It will have been 6 weeks since the last visit!
watercolor print via
She Loves Me Not:

1. No more sunshine :(
We were on a roll there for a while, but the sun is officially gone for a bit and it's back to rain for the Pacific Northwest.
via
2. Modern Family hasn't been on in WEEKS.
This is my family's favorite show and I, for one, am having with-drawls! When does it come back!?
via
3. Biology.
I'm not going to use it in my career...why do I have to take it?! {to become a well rounded person...I know, I know, mom! ;) }

Thanks for reading! What are YOU loving this week? Tell me in the comments or link up your own post. The link party will be open through the weekend! Have fun and visit other links, too! :)

Happy Wednesday!

She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not: Busy Girl

Happy Wednesday, friends! It's that time again. I'm here to introduce to you another one of my favorite and stylish bloggers, Nicole, from Busy Girl
Nicole is gorgeous and so funny! Her posts always make me smile. She loves traveling, photography, shopping, cooking, reading and coffee {self-diagnosed addict!} I just know you will adore her, too. Let's find out what she's loving and what she's not!
***

Hi!  I'm Nicole from Busy Girl.
I adore Michaela, she's the sweetest girl.
Who shares my love of fur-babies and chevron.
So when she asked me to share some of my favorite and not-so-favorite things with you, I was all over it.  Mainly because it gave me an excuse to gaze at some of things that make my heart swell for a little bit.

She Loves Me
1. Maps. Postcards. Stamps.  From all around the world.  I like having a little piece of everywhere in my home.

2. Garden fresh food.  Homemade hummus topped with avocado and roasted tomatoes?  The perfect lunch.

3. Cozy neutrals.  Perfect for every occasion.

4. Simple but sweet nautical touches.

She Loves Me Not
1. Sour cream.  Sorry, it gives me the heebie-jeebies.

2. Scuba diving.  I tried it on our honeymoon and couldn't help but feel claustrophobic.  I guess I'll be viewing fish from the top of the water from now on.

3. Spam emails from an African prince wanting to give me all his money.
I'll take the money, but not the scam.  Nice try.

4. This pointed nail trend...whoever said fashion could kill was right.

Thanks for having me Michaela :)

Thanks, Nicole! I'm adoring your love picks.  Neutrals are my favorite and stamps and postcards are so fun to collect! No scuba diving for me either- 1. Fish scare me and 2. I think I'd suffocate!!

Go say hello to Nicole over at Busy Girl!

Happy Wednesday!

She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not: A Newfound Treasure

Wednesday is here again and I couldn't be more thrilled to introduce you to yet another stylish design and fashion blogger.  Meet Anna of A Newfound Treasure
She's a stylish girl after my own heart who lives and breathes interior design, fashion, photography, DIY projects & thrifty finds. She's also sweet as pie and showcases incredible pictures filled with inspiration over at her blog. Let's hear what she's loving and what she's not this week!
***

Hey y'all! It's Anna here from A Newfound Treasure. I was so thrilled when sweet Michaela asked me to share my likes and dislikes as of late. I kept things centered around decorating and fashion. Easy, since those are my 2 loves and the main focus of my blog…

She Loves Me:

1. Suzani. A boho vibe is right up my alley.

Beautiful pink suzani in home of Dara Caponigro

bright spaces, bright pillows.

2. Art. Whether an abstract or nude sketch, you can never have too much art. Gallery walls are a great way to display loads of your favorite pieces.

Striped rug and cool accesories

color organized books with gallery wall and chair with nice lines.

But sometimes a single, oversized canvas is the perfect addition to a space.
inspired!

3. Gold. Specifically gold leafing. Gaaahh-orgeous!

4. Dark Walls. So moody, I just can't get enough!

5. Dye. The look of watercolor-everything or anything that has been splattered with / dipped in ink of some sort has me swooning!

She Loves Me Not:

1. Shabby Chic. Not a fan, at all.

2. Trend fail. While florals are in, this dress is the worst thing I've ever seen. What's worse is that it is sold out… people actually bought this!

3. Cats. More like hate. And I'm allergic.
daily cats

4. Rude people. No one likes a grump!
be nice

Thanks for letting me crash the blog today! If you like what you see from me, check out more at A Newfound Treasure. I look forward to seeing you there…

Thank you so much, friend! I think you hit on so many of my current loves! Gold leaf is topping the charts. And I hate to say it, but kitty's just aren't totally my thing either. Dogs all the way for this girl :)
