You guys, I have a problem. I just can't sit still! I've been dreaming of repainting our hall bath at my parents house for a few months now {ever since I changed the knobs!) and I think it's finally going to happen this next week. I love that they let me design and redesign our house :) Currently it's a yellow color, but in order to have it blend in more with the hall wall color and create a more cohesive flow in the house, I want to paint it a more subtle, soothing gray with a touch of blue. I mocked it up down below for you to see. The color I want to get is even a bit more gray than what's showing up here in the image. What do you think?!
Do you have any color name/brand suggestions?! Would love to hear any insight...
Have a wonderful Thursday!
xoxo

Pretty color! I'm sure your parents are grateful to have a designer in the family; they get such a discount on fabulous design ideas and work! Personally, I prefer Behr paint, especially the line with the primer in the paint. It covers really well and seems to go on so smoothly!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your finished product!
Thanks Caitlin! I love BEHR, too :)
DeleteBehr has a fun app you can play with paint colors and select which is best for a space if you're on iOS! I love the blue - I plan on painting our main living area something similar.
ReplyDeleteYes that app is awesome!! Yay for blue/gray! :)
Deletewe had the hardest time finding a grey that wasn't too blue or purple. we wound up going with "vintage grey" which was an eddie bauer color (at lowes). it's not really blue though but it's just the perfect shade of grey! it took a lot of trial and error with samples to find the right one. good luck!
ReplyDeleteOh AWESOME. I will check on that color...maybe it'll be the right fit! :)
Deletelove the blue, especially with the sweet knobs...your parents are awesome for letting you change things all the time!
ReplyDeleteYes! With the knobs- I'm excited :))
Delete100 times better with the blue! I hate yellow paint in homes because I think it casts everything in yellow! And I don't like that, it doesn't look as bright and fresh! The blue is great!
ReplyDeletep.s. benjamin moore paint is the best! haha :)
ReplyDeleteI'm redoing my parents' office right now...it's so fun to re-design someone else's home on their dime! :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! I can't wait to finally live somewhere that lets us paint. I'm jealous. Have fun!

That will be so fun to live somewhere that you can paint. Totally changes the feel of the space :)
DeleteDefinitely!!! My office is "wallstreet" by sherwin williams and is grey with a touch of blue but I think it's a LOT more grey than you want and it's pretty dark. Excited to see what you choose!

I'm pretty sure any project you do will look great. I can't offer suggestions on paint brands because I don't know anything about it. But which paint brands in your experience have been the best quality? Can't wait to see the completed project. Have a great Easter Weekend!
ReplyDeletethe color in the picture is the color i want for my future living room! i love a good blue with gray or a gray with blue. my walls now are grey (with a blueish undertone) and go very well with blue.
ReplyDeletei can't wait to see how this turns out!
I`m not very helpful because I really love the way the yellow looks haha. I hope you get some good suggestions though :)

ReplyDeleteLove the blue! I wish I lived closer to my parents so I could do projects like this!

We used Hirshfield's "Peg's Promise" in our powder room and laundry room. It is a fresh, happy blue, but might not have the gray-ness you are looking for.
ReplyDeletePaint it to match Emory's nursery. : )
ReplyDeleteI use Kentucky Haze AC-16 by Benjamin Moore a lot - Looks great with everything!
