{Fashion} One Sweater, Two Ways

I think today would be an appropriate day to tell you some news.  I'm on a spending freeze. After this girlfriend of mine told me she was going on a spending freeze for 3 months, I decided to join her for 1 of those months. This means I'm only buying food and gas for one month. No clothes, no home decor, no incidental-nail-polish-at-the-beauty-store-even-if-it's-half-off! You know what it's teaching me? I really like to spend money and what I need to do, especially as an almost college graduate, is to save it. I want to be able to give my money away to good causes, to my church, use it to serve other people, save for my future family {and home!} and I can't forget about those good 'ole student loans. This 1 month spending freeze will teach me to save, be thankful for what I have, and hopefully train me into a better spending/saving habit. It is also teaching me how to mix and match clothes.

Enter today's post. {Great segue, I know ;)} Since I've been remixing outfits, I thought I'd show you  two of my favorites using this comfy and bright orange sweater. Outfit one is a bit more casual with jeans and flats, and number two is paired on top of my go-to striped dress. I'm so lucky that my best friend is also a great photographer.

Have you ever done some outfit remixing? Do share! Here's to the next two weeks of my spending freeze :)

Okay gals, I'm off to the happiest place on earth today. Yep, I'm going to Disneyland with my mama. I couldn't be more excited!
Happy Thursday!

  3. First of all - you are SO SMART to go on a spending freeze and get used to living to the beat of a different drum. Professionally, I'm a personal finance blogger so I can't emphasize enough the importance of living within your means!! It's great to "freeze" yourself every once and a while and remember what is REALLY important, and what you can live without. It's also very eye-opening to see how much money you spend on things you don't need when you go back to evaluate!! My husband and I do it frequently, and it always shocks us to see how much the inconsequential purchases add up.

Secondly - You're stunning, and I adore BOTH of these combinations. That sweater is adorable (hello, what form Anthro isn't?!) but you style it so well!! Completely beautiful. I am living vicariously through your fashion choices lately because my belly won't let me wear what I want!!!

    Have a beautiful day!

  4. Both options are beautiful! Of course, you could rock just about any outfit. Good for you for saving this month!! While the little things seem "little" at the time, they do add up very quickly.

  9. Okay one, you are BEAUTIFUL! And two, I'm doing 40 days of no spending money on clothes right now, and I agree! It shows me how much I enjoy it! And if I want to spend money on clothes, I need to cut back on other things to make sure I'm also saving a responsible amount too.

    Happy Thursday :)

  10. Love this! I went on a 3 year spending freeze from all shoes, clothing, and accessories, and I loved it. I still frequently got compliments on my clothes, especially since it forced me to be more creative. My husband is in finance, and we are huge believers that not spending money on non-essential items is one of the best ways to save. "A penny saved is a penny earned!"

I'm on a spending freeze too. I spent a ton of money on a shopping spree a few weeks ago and got into a bit of trouble with the hubs. ;)

  22. You are a smart girl:-) And beautiful and yadayadayada! In college, my friends and I used to freeze, literally freeze our credit/debit cards in the freezer, so we didn't have that easy every day access of carefree swiping:-) xoxo
