She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not: Story of My Life

Hi friends! Today we have the wonderful treat of hearing from my good friend Jenni, over at Story of My Life.  She's beautiful, takes amazing photographs, and is downright hilarious. Let's hear what she's loving and what she's not:

Hey kids! Pleasure to meet you. Any friend of Michaela’s is a friend of mine!

I hope you enjoy my “she loves me, she loves me not” list today. I enjoyed creating it! Let’s dive right in.

She Loves Me…

1. One piece swimsuits

Much to my husband’s dismay, I am really feelin’ the one piece swimsuit trend this year. Especially the pretty little babies from J.Crew shown above! Me wants. Me loves.

2. Decorating with antique books

Some of my favorite things to decorate with are old books from antique stores. The ones in the photos I purchased for between .50 cents and 6.00 dollars. Umm, can we say awesomely cheap AND chic décor choice? Let me answer that. Yes, yes we can.

3. Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut flakes cereal

I think I MORE than love this cereal; I am obsessed with it. I dream about it at night, and think about it lovingly throughout the day. I look forward to waking up each morning because I know this baby awaits me in the pantry. I also look forward to afternoon snacks for that same reason. And I may or may not occasionally have a bowl of it for “dessert” after dinner. I’m not saying it’s true, but I’m not saying it’s NOT true, either.

4. Vintage gold jewelry

This one doesn’t need much explanation.

Love. Just, love. (all items shown are from this Etsy shop)

She Loves Me Not…

1. The Walking Dead

My husband LOVES this show, but I love it… not. I pretty much think it’s the worst thing ever aired. But if you’re into lots of spraying blood and flying guts, this might just be the zombie show for you.

2. Scantily-clad women

I actually Googled that to try and come up with a visual aid and, um, I don’t recommend that. Wow. Anyway, I just don’t love girls who dress immodestly and with all their junk hanging out. Like the other day, my hubby and I went to dinner and spotted two hoochie mamas walking up in the shortest little shorts I’d ever seen AND the most low cut, barely-there shirts I’d ever seen. I just wanted to shake them and say, “DON’T YOU KNOW YOU’D LOOK SO MUCH PRETTIER IF YOU LEFT A LITTLE MORE TO THE IMAGINATION?!”

Nuff said.

3. The number of unwanted animals languishing in shelters

I seriously become wildly enraged and, at the same time, deeply saddened, when I hear of people buying pets from breeders or pet stores. Thousands of unwanted animals are being euthanized in shelters EVERY DAY while you buy your prissy little foo-foo dog from a breeder. Just sayin. And the pets in no-kill shelters: what kind of life do they lead? Nothing near the type of life an animal with a loving home has, that’s for sure. BOO.

4. Pollen

Here in Texas right now, the pollen rules the Earth. Sniffling and sneezing abounds. No bueno.

However, if it weren’t for the pollen, we wouldn’t have this:

So pollen, I forgive you. But you still don’t make the “she loves me” list.

Thanks so much for having me Michaela… Happy Wednesday, everyone!!

Thanks a bunch, girlfriend. You're adorable. Those swimsuits are to die for and I'm not loving pollen right now, either. Just got a bad case of allergies!
Head on over to Story of My Life to say hello to the cutie-patootie Jenni (:

Love and xoxo,

  9. OH MY GOSH THAT CEREAL IS CRACK. I ate a whole box of it. Without milk. Just dry, crunching away. SO GOOD. I was going to pack a box of it in our suitcase, but I'm not sure how well that'll travel...

  13. 1) Post-kids, one-piece swimsuits are your best friend. No matter how thin you are, some things just don't look the same. Thank you very much, my precious children. I also think they are super classy - or that's just what I tell myself. Ha! (No, they are. I love the ones shown here.)

    2) I live in Miami. That's Spanish for "scantily clad women OVERLOAD!" It's really gross. Honestly, I don't think half of them even look at themselves in the mirror before they leave. Wow. Just wow.

    3) Amen to all the rest of it. I don't think you want an 8 paragraph comment. ;)

  16. I love this list! My husband bought a bunch of antique books off of amazon, some for 50 cents! He wanted to stack them on our entertainment center like he saw at Crate & Barrel once.. How cute is that? I still have to get him to blog about it!

Don't even get me started on animals in shelters and those who buy them, it gets me seriously upset every time. Then I get labeled as the crazy animal lady..which is okay :)

  17. Great list and looove those swimsuits!!!

  18. A-MEN to #3! I cannot stand it when people pay a ridiculous amount of money for a dog when they could be saving a life instead. I volunteer for an animal rescue and it breaks my heart everytime there is a sad ending. Thanks for getting this out there! Hopefully people will start to realize what is going on!

  19. i like the second swimwear, super sexy.

I thought Walking Dead was fun to watch, how can people survive with million zombies around is just fiction, LOL!

    Jenni is adorable for sure.

  20. I came over from Story of My Life, but I want to say "HHHIIIIII Michaela!"

I tear up every time an SPCA commercial comes on... breaks my heart. My dog is the happiest thing in my life.

My allergies are so bad year round I barely notice pollen anymore...

And yes I can not take the way some girls dress. If I'm wearing shorts, you better believe my top won't be too fitted. If I'm wearing something strapless, you better believe my legs are covered!

  26. LOVE the last one piece, those pieces of jewelery are gorgeous!!!

  27. Loved all of this, bathing suites from J.crew ROCK (I have a couple and they are by far my favorite), and I agree completely that I HATE The Walking Dead (worst EVER), also love the reference of scantily-clad women with "all their junk hanging out" and am SO with you on adopting pets from a shelter. I used to volunteer there all the time, just to walk the dogs that are trapped in cages all day, and it took a good month or two before I leave the place without crying! So sad. I am a shelter dog person all the way!!

    Good Job Jenni :)

  33. Love her loves :) I'm not loving the pollen either!

  34. Looooving those swimsuit options! After two kids, I need all the help I can get. ;)

I have to respectfully disagree on The Walking Dead. I am about as girlie girl as they come, and when my husband suggested I watch the premiere with him, I was really doubtful. But I ended up liking the storyline a lot. I close my eyes during the icky gorey parts, but I appreciate the fact that the story is more about friends and family and survival...the zombies seem like more of a back drop or social commentary. It's actually a pretty clever show. And hottie Southern policeman guys?? A definite plus. ;)

    Good post! :)
