This is my last recap of my mini vacation to visit Megan! Last stop: New Orleans!
What a crazy city...one that I'm so glad to have experienced, but also glad to have only spent a short time in (: We stayed on Bourbon Street, which was great because I got the FULL experience. And by that I mean people were downstairs below our balcony partying until 3 am! Don'tcha worry though, we fell right asleep.
Here's our day in New Orleans in pictures...
View from our hotel:
We went to the French Market to take a peek:
And get a Snowball..yum!
And happened to see Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's N.O's home:
We met a horse named Trixie...
And had the most delicious beignets from the famous Cafe Du Monde. Seriously my mouth is watering thinking about them!
One of Megan's college friends met us for breakfast. So sweet.
After we had breakfast, we went to see the beautiful cathedral behind Jackson square:
At dinner I tried some of Megan's black beans and rice...it was spiceyyyy! See?! This California girl is so not used to that taste!
Then we did something weird. Meg drug me to the cemetery...not my thing in the first place. But did you know they burry people above ground in cement blocks like this??
They aren't allowed to burry people under ground because New Orleans is below sea level and if you were to dig a hole, you'd hit water quickly!
These are our scared faces:
Such a great trip! I am so blessed to be able to have gone and spent time in the south with Megan. I think I developed the travel bug now (:
I can't wait to show you some of my favorite homes I found while I was on the trip. They're coming later in the week!
Have a wonderful Monday!

ReplyDeleteNow for a funny story...picture a young fresh out of school exec...asked to drive his bosses new porsche (expired tag, as he was moving and didn't want to pay twice)through New Orleans after stopping at Cafe Du Monde for beignets...young exec fails to remember said bag of beignets, puts the top down...can ya say white powder everywhere?!! Young exec praying the rest of the trip that he doesn't get stopped in a brand new porsche with expired tags that he doesn't own with white powder all over it! Priceless! (yes, that would be my sweet hubby)
Looks like so much fun! My mouth is watering now too!
