The Pretty Lace Vase

You know when you're just on a roll with something? {That's a fun way of saying I'm obsessed with something...} I'd say I'm on a role with finding fun things to do with mason jars. If you missed my Chalkboard Paint Jar, catch it over here.  Today I have another DIY for you! This happens to be one of my favorite DIY projects I've done in a while. The end result is pretty, sophisticated and looks expensive! And that's what we want to go for...especially when the total cost for the project is only $12, right?!

This is what I like to call the Pretty Lace Vase.
Kinda rhymes...ya know, so you can remember it better (:
Materials: Spool of lace, tape, scissors, large mason jar, spray paint, paint brush, glitter accent paint, & a candle or flowers.

Step 1: Dab the glitter paint on your jar in random areas, keeping within the width of the lace. {to be sure I stayed inside the width of the lace fabric, I used a white erase marker to trace it before I did the glitter...that way it wipes right off!} I used Martha Stewart's Craft Glitter Paint in a Bronze/Copper:

Step 2: Cut out your strip of lace and tape it securely together around the jar.

Step 3: Once the lace is in place, spray paint the jar whatever color you wish.

Step 4: Remove the lace right after spray painting so the lace doesn't stick to the jar while drying. Allow dry time, then put the mason jar top back on!

As you can see, the lace pattern is left on the jar and glitter is a nice touch to be able to see peeking through the design.

You can put a yummy smelling candle in the jar to illuminate the lace design...

Or fill the jar with some fresh flowers...

What do you think? Easy enough?? I showed the jar to my two Aunts and they have both already requested one (: I'm thinking this could be a great holiday gift! Or even a DIY wedding centerpiece.  Could you imagine a cluster of them on a table- some with flowers, some with candles? Beautiful!

I hope you'll try it... and I hope I've inspired you to find fun things to do with mason jars.
Have a great day & don't forget to enter the giveaway posted on Monday, September 5th!
