Friday Favorites and Links to Love

Hello and happy Friday to you! Thanks for all the sweet comments about this week's room reveals. If you missed them, you can catch a Peter Pan inspired nursery tour here and my parent's living room update here. It's truly a joy to do what I love and share it here with you, so I really appreciate the positive feedback and genuine excitement.

Because this week has been so busy with client visits and other projects (and my sweet boyfriend is coming to town next week, so I'm prepping posts and projects for the next week!), I am going to do a fun weekend's link post again like last week!

- This flower arrangement is gorgeous and created by one of my favorite florists!
- I'm so obsessed with statement necklaces. This one is a current favorite. When it comes to jewelry, I'm simple and easy, so to be able to to throw on these chunky jewels and run out the door is a very, very good thing.
- One of my favorite home decor stores is having a free shipping sale this weekend! Their pillows are to.die.for.
- This throw blanket would match my pillows in my bedroom perfectly. On my wish list!
- This sums up my feelings on last week's The Bachelor episode. Go Andi ;)
- Loving this colorful mobile for a baby boy!
- My sweet friend Bailey had wrote kind words about some great blogs (and I'm blessed to be included!)
- This post got me so excited for spring and gardening!
- I love Kate Spade. That's not a secret. This wallet is on sale and I'm majorly swooning.
- Did you catch all the new art at Lulu & Georgia? It's adorable.
- I got to model a beautiful wedding gown at last week's Lab Event in San Francisco. Hopefully more pictures will be coming soon. It was a dream! You can see sneak peek's here.

What are you doing this weekend? It's going to be pouring cats and dogs here in the Bay Area, but I'm looking forward to it!
Happy weekend!

Client Update: Living Room Progress

As you know, I've been helping my parent's redesign their living room over the past few months. We're in the home stretch! Here was the initial game plan for the living room, then you helped us choose a rug (and then the rug arrived that we chose and my mom didn't love it as much as she did online, so we returned it and started over!), and now we've got a new rug everyone loves, a beautiful new coffee table, the most beautiful accent wallpaper in the dining room, and a pretty sofa (more on that below…)

I wanted to give you a peek at the progress, so first up is the stunning new coffee table we found at a local design store here in the Bay Area, Traditionally Derby. I cannot rave enough about this shop. I actually just started helping them with their social media over the last few weeks, which has been so fun, but I just love the store owner and workers to pieces. They're kind, helpful and everything in Derby is downright beautiful and stylish. The gold coffee table with a mirrored top is perfect for our room because we already have accents of gold around the room. Our curtain rods are gold, the painting above the sofa is framed in gold, and the chandelier is (unfortunately) gold/brass looking. We'd love to switch this out in the future when budget allows, but for now, it's staying.

Here she is...

I simply styled the coffee table with a few of my favorite design books and magazines, a candle and some fresh flowers.

The side table lamp is from Lulu & Georgia and it's a crowd favorite. Everyone wants to know where we got this lamp! We just love it. Again, the gold accents on the lamp ties everything together. We love the pillows, too!

On a side note, our sofa will be getting replaced. The company we chose to get the sofa from, Thomasville, has been really disappointing to work with. I wouldn't normally say that about a company, but this has been such a frustrating experience, I want to be sure I'm honest with my readers.  Anyways, long story short, the sofa fabric began pilling about 2 weeks after we got it (not characteristic of a linen blend) so I called to tell them this and say we needed to get the sofa remade in a different, more durable fabric apparently. After a whole slew of upsetting customer service, we finally got our sofa to be remade and it will be arriving sometime in the next few weeks. It will be a nice neutral, beige color, so it will be perfect with the lamp and the rug. We'll miss this light dove gray fabric, but hoping the basket weave fabric we've ordered now will hold up much better.

Here's my favorite thing about the room….that glorious Phillip Jeffries wallpaper!!! Cue confetti.
The textured grasscloth wallpaper really accents the tall ceilings, brings great visual interest to the space without being overwhelming and the subtle, light blue/gray diamond pattern is a great way to tie in the blue/gray from the other side of the room.

The Ballard Designs mirrors are also a show stopper. We needed something really tall to help bring the eye up, focusing on how grand the ceilings are. These do the trick!

We ordered a yard of this beautiful fabric for one more throw pillow to go in the middle of the sofa (my grandma is going to make it!) Since the dining room chairs are upholstered in this "cranberry" color and my parents clients wanted to keep the dining chairs the same, we needed to find a way to bring the cranberry color over into the living room half of the space. This was the perfect find! I can't wait to get the pillows on the sofa to complete the look.

So there's what is going on in our living room for now. How do you like the look of it so far? My clients are really happy, and that's the best feeling ever! Do you love it as much as we do?

Have a wonderful Thursday! This week is flying by :)

She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not: Life of the Party

Hi friends! I'm excited to bring back my She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not series. Maybe once a month or so, I'll bring back this series as a way to introduce you to other fun bloggers and share the love. Today we're meeting Sherry from Life of the Party
Sherry blogs about all this stylish, whether it be home decor, parties and entertaining, fashion and more, she's got style for days and is a true gem! I know you'll adore her as much as I do…

Hello lovely Michaela Noelle Designs readers. I'm so honored to be here guest posting on Michaela's fabulous blog today.
1. There is no better way than to start your day that with a beach walk. Living in Hawaii we sometimes take for granted the beauty that surrounds us each day. This is my reminder, right here!

2. I had  been on the search for a new perfume  when I came across the brand Tocca. It was near impossible to choose my favorite but I decided on Florence because it reminded me of jasmine or tuberose. It is the perfect light floral scent for spring and summer.
3. I have been crushing on the Gigi New York clutch forever. It adds chic sophistication to any ensemble.
1. I normally don't get in to all of the celebrity hype and for the most part I can completely ignore the ridiculousness that goes on but here is what I don't like...Miley Cyrus's tongue! If I see it one more time I might lose my mind. Stop the madness already, Miley!
2. We recently went to the ever so popular Lego Movie. I really liked the movie but I am definitely not liking that the song Everything is Awesome has been in my head since we watched it...two weeks ago. It's a catchy song with a good message but trust me, a little annoying all at the same.

3. Living on an island is not always paradise. Like when it comes time to do spring cleaning and finding that all of your favorite handbags and shoes are covered in mildew. Yes, it's gross but it's true, the elements are tough on a lot of things here.  There is very little we can do about it but take a walk on the beach and forget about it.
Thank you Michaela for sharing your space with me today and thank you Michaela readers for taking the time to say hello!

Did I mention Sherry lives in Hawaii?! Yep. I think I'll come for a visit ;) I, too, am totally over Miley. Yikes!  Go say hi over at Life of the Party for lots of inspiration and party goodness!

What are YOU loving this week?

Fashion: Floral, Denim & Leather

DETAILS | Jeans (also love these) / Top / Leather Jacket (similar) / Necklace / Sunglasses / Booties (similar, similar)

I always classify my style as feminine and easy. I don't like a lot of fuss. Anyone with me> One piece of statement jewelry is about all I can take, so a simple outfit that consists of jeans, a cute flowy top, booties and a staple leather jacket is a winner in my book. Looks like this are definitely my go-to uniform. I love the floral trim and back to this top and I also love that I can dress it up with heels and down with flats or riding boots. Floral and leather is a great combination-- it's girly, sweet and little bit edgy.

What's your go-to outfit?!

Happy Tuesday!

Peter Pan Inspired Nursery Reveal

It's always fun when best friend's have babies, because it means I get to help with their nursery design, among other fun things :)

As you know, my friend Ashley had baby Caleb last fall and I was able to go visit her in September to dote on the new little man. When I was there, we also put some finishing touches on his nursery. I loved the concept and inspiration for Caleb's nursery, because it was unlike any theme I'd ever done before. A Peter Pan inspired nursery happened right before our very eyes and I love every square inch. It's simple, adventurous, boy-friendly, playful and sweet.

Ashley's Grandma painted this amazing clock tower from Peter to put over the crib. Having original and sentimental artwork in the nursery is so special. Here's what Ashley had to say about this painting:

"The most special piece in the room is the painting my grandmother did for caleb-- she painted her version of Thomas Kinkade's painting and added some extras in, like Bella (our pup) flying off to Neverland and we painted in the time Caleb was born on the clock hands. Love this so much!"

We started with out big design elements first. After seeing the painting for above the crib, we chose a soothing shade of creamy blue for the walls and this Lulu & Georgia rug that actually looks like water (this was the first thing Ashley bought for the room and it was love at first sight for both of us!) Next we picked out the adorable Caitlin Wilson Textile anchor pillow, Ashley found the Peter Pan watercolors from Billy & Scarlet, and an awesome floor lamp. Then Ashley filled in with fun details like the world map dresser knobs, cute stuffed animals (and of course the crocodile is in the mix!) and some great fishy bedding from Land of Nod.  We spray painted the numbers gold and paired them with a fun sailboat and the sweetest pair of baby Sperry's. This was the first thing Ash bought for Caleb while we were on our trip in Chicago.  It's always the little details that really pull the room together! But, of course, the cutest little detail is baby Caleb himself.

Here's a long overdue tour of Caleb's nursery (sources are below!)

Go visit Ashley's blog for more of her commentary on the nursery.

Isn't it precious?! I love the Peter Pan idea, and love even more that we didn't go over-the-top in the decor, but rather were simply inspired by Peter Pan and other nautical pieces played into it. Overly theme-driven spaces can be too much, so Caleb's nursery had just the right dose of Peter Pan {in my opinion!}

What do you think of the space?!
Happy Monday!

Friday Favorites and Random Musings

Photo: Michaela Noelle Designs

I'm glad to see Friday here already! This week flew by for me, I think because I've been so insanely busy with clients, projects, this blog, work, and family. I've also been working out a lot lately, which feels great. I completely fell of the bandwagon there for a while, so it feels good to be back on track. I've been trying my best to run a mile {not much, but it's something!} every day or every other day, do some weight training, ab work and then of course, I take the pup on walks if my mom can't do it that day. I think this past week I spent more time in exercise clothes (read: yoga pants) than normal clothes. At least they're comfy!

Can I ramble a little more about something completely random?! I am all for the Olympics and like to watch the ice skating, but I miss my regularly scheduled programs. Which, incase you are wondering, are Nashville, How I Met Your Mother, and Parenthood. Thankfully (I joke) The Bachelor was still on. If I may say, though, I'm so over this season! Who's with me?
