A while back I showed you a client's living room design plan here. Since we're redesigning this client's entire first floor, I thought it'd be fun to show you some more progress. The kitchen was completely torn out and redone. It's so great to see it come together (finally!) Last week, the backsplash went in and ohhh la la, it's gorgeous! It was a really fun one to design. My client wasn't sure if she wanted a detailed design behind where the stove will go, but I pushed for it, and everyone is so glad!
We did a really pretty gray/beige subway tile for the majority of the kitchen backsplash and did an inlay of small rectangular marble tiles behind the range. This detail really pulls together the gray veining in the quartz countertop and a lot of the other beige and gray details in the space.
The island is a darker walnut finish and we decided on gold hardware for just the island. The perimeter of the other white cabinets are all silver hardware. I've always been a big fan of mixing metals, so when my client asked me what I thought about this, I was so excited!
These pretty knobs are from Anthropologie. The reason they work when mixed with other silver hardware is that they have a mother of pearl finish. This finish has a hint of gray and silver in it, tying everything together.
Two of these mercury glass lamps sit on the entry console table. Here's a pair that's similar.
It's always such a journey to see my client's homes take shape. I can't wait to show you everything soon! It's one gorgeous home.
