Southern Charm












Southern homes have my heart. Someday when I design and build my own home, I will have Southern design at the forefront on my mind.  A front porch {complete with a swing and fans} will be the family hang out spot, columns will draw your eyes up, sweet shutters will frame each window, and pretty brick will wrap the bottom of the home while white siding sits on the top half.  I can see it now.


I took a packing break to sketch it for you...

    Aw... I adore southern architecture too. Something so formal yet homey about it all at the same time. And I really love the pillars. Just love it!

    oh i am SO SO with you on the southern home thing...im totally obsessed with the old style southern plantation homes..wrap around fronch porches..white with black shutters..i die.

    I was born in New Orleans and always loved the Southern home charm! The wrap around porch with sweet flowers was ideal on a hot summer night.

    Oh my, I love the southern house. If that was for sale here in Vancouver, with properties of those sizes they'd be in the tens of millions, but a girl can dream ;). The front porch idea has forever appealed to me! It reminds me of that house Noah built in The Notebook (groan, I know :p)...

    I am with you on the Southern charm. There is nothing like a big wrap around porch complete with ceiling fans and a swings. And your drawing is amazing! I would frame that!
