See that dark cloud above my head? About 30 minutes after these pictures were taken, it started hailing. {sorry mama, I "accidentally" left that out of our phone conversation the other day! Don't worry I was fine (:}. Before leaving work I asked my boss if I had to do anything differently when I drove in hail. She said to take it slower than normal. No problem there- I think I went 15 MPH. Sorry to the car who was behind me! Of course this being my first experience driving in hail, I was driving home like a grandma on a Sunday. With ice balls falling on my window shield I was just praying I wouldn't have a melt down {pun intended}. I was also incredibly thankful for my seat warmers at this point, because it was 35 degrees outside.My tush I was nice and toasty inside my trusty little Elantra.
This was also the debut of my little white hat for the season. The drastic drop in temperature made me take drastic measures when getting dressed that morning. Double leggings, big coat, hat, scarf, gloves, socks, boots. Yep, that's the way to go.
I'm kind of a wimp. But I'm okay with that. At least I know (;
How do you deal with the cold?!
Happy Monday!
Love,

Cold is all about the layering! You'd do better with two pairs of leggings than sweatpants. People never believe me until they try it!

ReplyDeleteleggings are the perfect thing to layer for cold weather. awesome idea!
ReplyDeletethis outfit is super cute, and you are awesomely cautious I think. Asking someone older and wiser about driving in Hail was a really good decision.

She can be brutal.
I bundle up - same way you do! It's been cold down here in Portland too, I think yesterday's high was 41 degrees. Let's hope for some snow if it's going to be this cold from here on out!

ReplyDeleteAt least, you get to wear that cute outfit and hat! P.S. I love the boots!
So cute. I am such a cold wimp. I can't believe I went to school in freezing temps. I could never do it now. Crushing on your boots.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how cold its been in Seattle recently! Much colder than here in Boston. I live in my scarves, hats, leg warmer, boots, and gloves when it gets cold. I find if my hands and neck are cold, its all over.

ReplyDelete2. I almost bought those exact same boots but changed my mind at the last minute and got a different pair.
3. Double tights? Genius. I've only recently embraced the tights thing and I'm so glad you mentioned doubling up. I can now get through a San Francisco winter without freezing my thighs!
What a fab outfit! I love those boots! I'm headed to Chicago in January -- and I will have to use your tip of double leggings! People from Texas don't know how to deal with cold weather -- I'm a wimp too! :)
