Last weekend after church, my mom and I went to the local farmer's market. Since my new eating habits started last week, we've ben eating a lot more fruits and a veggies so the farmer's market will become our weekend routine, I'm sure! We picked up fresh kale (for a fruit + kale smoothie), zucchini, cheese, freshly squeezes strawberry lemonade, and some roses. The roses you see in these pictures below cost us a total of $5! I could barely believe my ears when the man told us they were $2.50 per bunch. Thank you, farmer's market!

Do you have a local market you like to stop by for fresh food? I'm going to be trying out some recipes from Gwyn's book this week. I can't wait. Any suggestions of favorite recipes from her book?
Also, I'm selling a TON of my clothes in the SHOP tab here on my blog. I did some summer cleaning and decided to part with some pieces to give me more room in my closet.
Also, you can catch me at The Short & Sweet of It today!
Have a wonderful Tuesday!

ReplyDeleteI love our Farmer's Market here in South Georgia! They have the best prices and the veggies are so fresh! I will never buy produce from Publix or Walmart again! :)
ReplyDeleteLove farmer's markets! The Ferry Building has a good one every Tuesday and Thursday. The later you go in the day the better deals you get! I usually take a late lunch to snag some pretty blooms!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos!! Love Farmer's Markets!! The hubs and I are heading to ours tonight. :)

ReplyDeleteHi Michaela, I've been a fan for a couple years now but I think this is my first time commenting! Silly :P. I have "It's All Good" and while I find some of the recipes a little intimidating, I definitely enjoy their go to avo on toast breakfast/snack. Plus you can't beat the beautiful pictures! My husband and I are a part of a CSA in our city so we pick up a 10 lb. box of fresh, local produce every week. It's always a mystery as to what we are going to get as well as a challenge on how to eat it all up before the next weeks veggies arrive! Have you found a fav recipe from the book yet?
ReplyDeleteI love Farmer's Markets! I haven't been yet this summer...still have to do that.
ReplyDeleteThese images are beautiful Michaela! I could visit a farmers market every morning. Its such a refreshing way to start the day. Produce is always much better there too!
ReplyDeleteStopping by the farmers market is one of my favorite weekend activities. Every time I visit I'm amazed at how much cheaper everything is than at the grocery store and I love meeting the farmers that worked to provide the food. Gorgeous pictures!
ReplyDeleteI wish we had a nearby Farmers market, I love going to them! I love Gwyneth's book I actually cooked a really quick dinner from it last night! I did the pink snapper (although I used different fish) and the baked apples!
