Home Tour: Traditional with Historic Flair

Photography by John Bessler for Traditional Home

As I prepare for a big move across the country, I have been scouring the wealth of inspiration on the internet and my design magazines. The thought of decorating my own place is exciting and daunting simultaneously. Is that feeling familiar for anyone?! Also, I need to note that designing client's homes is SO much easier compared to putting decor together for your own place. #interiordesignerproblems

This stunning home, pictured above, has so many elements I gravitate towards. A sweet porch, lots of wood, exposed beams, beautiful fireplaces and most of all, gorgeous lighting everywhere. I definitely want to incorporate a lot of wood {possibly weathered wood!} pieces into my apartment. In fact, I am getting a barn wood dining table made by my boyfriend's friend, just for little ole me! I can't wait for that!

What elements do you love from this beautiful home, built in the 1600's? {Fun fact-- George Washington slept in this house! Read more here.}

Hope you have a lovely weekend!
