My Michigan Garden Bridal Shower

Back in August, three of my friends (Chelsea, Rhiannon & Ashley) threw me the most beautiful bridal shower ever. It was the hottest of Michigan summer days! My mom flew in from California and a bunch of my favorite people were there to celebrate. It was the most special day!

Last week the shower was featured on Style Me Pretty-- so fun to relive the day and all the love I felt!

From Ashley Slater Photography, my maid of honor and shower photographer…I was so thrilled to be able to throw Michaela a bridal shower in the gorgeous gardens of Aquinas campus. I knew I wanted it to be reflective of her wedding day color palette and once I found the invitation on Minted, I used it to build the rest of the day. I had the greatest help in Rhiannon, of Hey Gorgeous Events, who helped choose linens, dishes and really bring Michaela’s feminine style to life! We used signage from the same calligrapher Michaela had hired for her wedding, Jenny Sanders of Graceline, and the watercolor floral elements were used throughout the setup. Of course, as beautiful as it was, the best part was sharing in such a special day, watching Michaela open gifts under a beautiful weeping willow and eating lots of delicious food! It was such a sweet day and great representation of the perfect Michigan summer afternoon!

We played a few fun games-- one where the guests had to try and recall details of our wedding day and a gift bingo game. So much fun!

We received some of the nicest gifts. So grateful for our friends and family who have helped make our house a home!

Weren't the flowers amazing?! I wish I could have kept them forever :)

THE cutest cookies I've ever seen. And so delicious!

My California Bridal Shower

Last Saturday my two aunts and grandmother threw me the most beautiful and sweet bridal shower! These pictures do not capture the beauty, because the lighting was not great, but I had to share anyways. About 20 amazing women in my life gathered to celebrate our upcoming wedding. It was so fun to have 3 of my closest friends and lots of family there in one place. There is no doubt, I felt absolutely showered with love, blessings, and some really fun gifts!

The shower was at a tea house, because tea is my favorite thing ever. My aunts know me so well :) One of my aunts put together the gorgeous hydrangea arrangements with the blooms from her yard. Aren't they amazing?! When we first arrived, we were each served a peach bellini. Next, we sat down to enjoy delicious hot tea with a traditional high tea spread. My favorite were the cinnamon scones and cucumber tea sandwiches. I think I had 5 sandwiches ;) The desserts were sweet little creme puffs and petit fours. Yum! Here are a few pictures from the day, so I can look back on this day for years to come.

So fun to have two of my best friends from high school and my very best friend from college join us!

One of the fun things they had the guests do was each write down something we could do together, how to create a tradition, or general marriage advice for the two of us. It was SO fun to read through these!

Love these friends so much!

We were so blessed by friends and family last weekend! I can't wait to put our gifts to good use after our wedding in September. Or can I start using it now?? ...hehe :)

Happy Tuesday!

We were so thrilled to have our bridal shower tea party featured on Burnett's Boards last week! This was one of my favorite shoots to date, because I love the color palette. (PS. I may or may not have wanted to do this palette as a trial run for my wedding one day... ;) It's confirmed...I love it!) You can also catch part of the shoot in print in Cottage Hill Magazine (on news stands in Barnes and Noble!)

One of my favorite parts about this shoot is the "make your own floral crown" station. The girls got to have fun making their own crown, engaging in laughs and conversation. I think it's such a sweet get together idea!

What's your favorite element from the inspiration shoot?
