Scenes from Tahoe

I'm just getting back from Tahoe where we spent the 4th of July. My best friend came along with us, and we had a wonderful time relaxing! Everything is so beautiful up here. The food is always delicious, people are so kind, and Miss Hope loves the freedom and all the water she gets to play in on hikes. Here's a few pictures from our trip!

Glimpse.

Is this real life? APRIL, already? Time is flying.
The last few weeks have been crazy, exciting, tiring and oh-so-joyful. Here's a glimpse as to what I've been up to according to Instagram :)

1. Hope loves riding in the car.
2. Chocolate Covered Pretzels. My not-so-new obsession.
3. Dresser arrangement- little jars and perfumes galore.
4. My all-time favorite breakfast.
1. Outfit of the day {I'll be posting my outfit each day on Instagram starting this next week! @michaelanoelle} Black Anthro dress & leopard flats.
2. Blogging, hot chocolate and a cinnamon roll = perfect morning.
3. Bridesmaid dresses for my best friend's wedding last week!
4. Living in an Artful Way: quote on Anthropologie's floor that I adore.
1. Hope's taking her Saturday morning nap, half on and half off her bed.  Awesome.
2. Hope in the Lord...new saying on my quote frame for April.
3. Baking sugar cookies.

Hope you're having a lovely Sunday. I'm excited about a few fun things coming to the blog this week, including a sentimental little DIY project :)

What are you up to on this fine first day of April?

From Our Family to Yours

Last weekend before my BFF Alyssa took my fashion photos, we took our family Christmas card pictures. A little late in the game, we know! Better late than never, though (:
To preface, my brother {who's younger, but looks older than me} isn't a huge fan of getting photos taken {he's an athlete...always has to be moving, or bouncing a ball of some sort, so standing still is tough ha!} We had some good laughs in the 30 minutes it took to tackle taking our pictures, and we also think we snapped a few winners.

I know we'll treasure these for a while, as my brother heads off to college next year, too! I'm guessing it will be harder and harder to get the fam together to get photos done in the coming years. Thanks to be best friend Alyssa, we've got some keepers (: Take a look:

Here are a few outtakes...I was trying to teach my family how to be candid without looking like we were trying. Didn't work! They're silly...

This is my brother telling us he was d.o.n.e. & of course I'm still posing away...

Here is the family photo we chose for our Christmas cards! Love!

Did you get family photos taken this year??
Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

DIY Clothespin Bulletin Board

Last weekend I had photos taken of my newly finished bedroom. I'm hoping to submit them to other blogs and such, so I have to hold off showing the whole room on my bloggity.  Check my facebook page for secret sneak peaks over the next few days(:

Today I'm sharing one of my favorite DIY projects in my room.  It's a super easy and cute way to display pictures!

I took a picture frame and recovered the fabric I had on there last year to give it a new look.  I simply stapled the new gray and yellow paper around the backing of the frame:

Next I cut two pieces of twine, pulled them tight and stapled them behind as well:

Finally, I used these little clothespins to hold up a few pictures and a sweet note from my dad. When I want a change, I can just switch them out easily!

Speaking of sneak peaks...there's one!  My little clothespin bulletin board is hanging right next to my glossy magazine picture canvas over my bed. Lots of inspiration over me while I sleep (: I love the paper I found at Meadow Boutique, as the specs of yellow totally compliment and ramp up the purple that the room is already covered in. {purple+yellow=complimentary colors} Fun fact(:

Have you done any DIY's lately??

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Picture This

I love pictures.  Mostly because they remind me of the memories we made on that given day.  But this year, instead of doing the cliche college collages all over the walls I wanted to do something different.  It took me a while to find what I wanted to do, so this was my before:

Last weekend I found a long piece of twine and some cute clothespins with old fashion writing on them.
I love the whimsical feel it has.  I even found a really cute paper flower while I was in Snohomish the other day, so it went right up!

A sweet card my dad sent me in the mail (:

To learn about my cork bulletin boards, go here.

How do you display your pictures in you office area? A big bulletin board, gallery wall, or what?
PS. Don't forget to enter my giveaway! It ends next Wednesday!

Today I'm thankful for memories.  Memories that remind us who we were and who we are.  I'm thankful to have pictures of when I was little, so I could how I loved my baby brother, to see how I would look at my daddy, and experience how infatuated I was with my mom.  Memories of the adorable elementary school years, awkward middle school years, and the most important years of my life-- high school.  I have thousands of pictures of my friends and I in high school and anytime I look at them it warms my heart; for they are my best friends, the girls who stuck together through thick and thin, and the girls who have undeniably blessed me with their friendship.

Love and Captured Memories,
