2020 Gift Guide for the Beauty Lover

The gift guide for all things beauty is always so fun for me to put together, because I seem to have a lot of these items on my own wishlist each year!! As many of you know, I'm an advocate for safe and non-toxic products for both our homes AND our bodies. All of the products in today's guide are "safer" beauty options that I would feel totally comfortable using. Just for a little safer beauty education, one of the most important factors to me is that the company discloses the ingredient list so consumers know exactly what's in their products (and in specific fragrances, too!) I'm proud to be apart of a company that takes what it puts into its products seriously! While Beautycounter is my favorite safer beauty brand, I'm also sharing a couple of other brands I love below.

Thanks to my friend Ashley Slater Photography for all the fun images!

This comes at a perfect time, because Beautycounter is having our 15% off site wide sale + FREE shipping over $50 right now through November 29th!

Let's start with the big ole gift guide for the beauty loves and down below, I'll be showing you some favorite individual products:

SHOP:
scrub & lotion set / brightening facial oil / lip butter balm / jet lag face mask / bronzer drops / Aveda hair brush / shampoo / conditioner / hair clips / headband / facial steamer / charcoal mask  / non toxic top and base coat (code michaelanoelledesigns for 10% off) / light pink non toxic polish (code michaelanoelledesigns for 10% off) / fresh sugar lip advanced balm / T3 curling iron (1-1/4"-- use code HOLIDAY25 for 25% off) / absorbent hair towel / jade roller & gua sha tool  / shower cap

Below are some of my favorite gift sets, all on sale for 15% off + free shipping over $50:

1.  The Jellies were so popular last year that they brought them back. They've already sold out once, so I know they're one of the most popular items! This set makes for such a great gift for a tween or teen. The formula is super moisturizing and not overly tacky. The colors are light and sheer. I love these shimmery shades! I have one left from last year that still has over half the tube left.

2. Body Butter Trios: this set of 3 body butters is truly divine. Each in a different scent, they're so hydrating and luxurious. I will break these apart and give to each of my girlfriends!

3. Polish & Protect Duo: this is the perfect little lip scrub and twist up balm for the cooler months. The sugar scrub is meant to exfoliate, slough away dead skin and hydrate with the conditioning oils inside. The balm is the perfect way to seal in the moisture.

4. Beyond Gloss Trio: these gorgeous three shades of our new Beyond Gloss are universally flattering. These are limited edition colors, and they're so pretty! You get 3 full size glosses in this set, and one gloss is regularly priced $29, so it's a great deal at just $49 ($41 on sale). Treat yourself with this one! Or keep one and gift the other two ;) The scent is the delicious Neroli flavor.

5. Ultimate Bath Renewal Set: this one is extra fun because it not only has two full sized products, but also a new beauty tool-- the dry brush! After you use the dry brush to exfoliate your skin by brushing in upward motions, this set comes with the lemongrass body scrub (unbelievably delicious smell!) which you'll use in the shower. Once you're all dry, finish with the body oil. Your skin will be so soft and hydrated. Perfect for an in-home spa night! (I also think this is a great gift for moms and grandmas who love beauty and who are missing their skincare appointments like massages and pedicures;)) If you just want the scrub and a lotion, this is another great set!

6. Golden Hour All-In-One PaletteAs many of you know, Beautycounter doesn't regularly sell makeup palettes that contain both eyeshadow and blush, so this one is one you should definitely grab if you've been wanting to make the switch to clean makeup. This palette is made up of limited edition shades and comes with a pull-out mirror, making it so convenient! As always, Beautycounter batch tests all of their color cosmetics for heavy metals. This highlighter is GORGEOUS.

7. Hand Cream Trio: each of these colorful tubes has a different, lovely scent.
  • Uplift: An invigorating blend of Bergamot and Ginger, reminiscent of Earl Grey tea.
  • Balance: A grounding citrus floral blend with notes of Neroli and Geranium.
  • CalmLavender and Tonka Bean give this blend it's soothing aroma.

With all the hand washing this year, isn't a good lotion (that's not greasy) imperative?! I think this would make the absolute perfect teacher gift!!

  • If you're not into the gift sets, but want to take a dive into safer beauty products, here are some personal basic staples:

    1. Resurfacing Peel:  You put this on after cleansing at night and it helps with fine lines, evening overall skin tone, reducing breakouts (some people say they like this better than any acne face cream/serum!), and brightens your skin while reducing dullness. It's amazing!

    2. All Bright C Serum: this day serum is something you put on after cleansing in the AM, followed my moisturizer, sunscreen and makeup. It's packed with vitamin C which will brighten your overall appearance, work on fine lines, wrinkles, heal scars and acne, as well as lift dark spots from sun and aging.

    3. Brightening Facial OilI know, it seems counterintuitive to put oil on your face (especially if you have oily skin) when we face our face to remove oil. It's weird, but stick with me: we often have oily skin because our skin is overcompensating for a lack of good oil production! After cleansing at night, I apply our Brightening Facial Oil then follow with moisturizer to ensure my skin is being hydrated with good oil and keep it from producing its own not-so-good oil. 2 drops every night is what I use! If you have dry skin, feel free to use in the morning as well or add a drop to your moisturizer instead of putting directly on your skin.

If you struggle with redness, uneven skin tone or acne, the Balancing Oil might be best for you!

    4. Countermatch Radiance Toner: After cleansing, apply this toner with a cotton pad! With a unique gel texture and a sustainable glass bottle, this new toner helps minimize the appearance of pores while removing residual impurities, leaving skin hydrated and radiant.

    5. Countermatch Foaming Cleanser: This creamy foaming cleanser features squalane, plum oil, and phytic acid to remove face and eye makeup, wash away impurities, and get you glowing. Leaves skin feeling soft and smooth, not tight or dry!

Here are a couple extra gift ideas in the way of safe beauty!

highlight luminizer / superfood mermaid mask / honest beauty face wash / primally pure cleansing oil / clean deodorant minis / cream eye shadow set  / natural dry shampoo / concealer

I hope you find something you love for some people on your list! Let me know if you have any questions about Beautycounter products.
