Do you ever have "I have nothing to wear" moments, the morning before a big party?! Oh good, it's not just me ;) I ran out and grabbed this dress the morning before the Glitter Guide 3 Year Anniversary Party a few weeks ago. Lulu & Georgia hosted the party and launched a big announcement! Glitter Guide's Taylor Sterling has designed a rug to be exclusively sold at L&G, coming this Fall. This has got to be my favorite dress in my closet! I wore it to the Bloom Workshop last week, and honestly…I've worn it about 4 other times, all in a matter of about 3 weeks. Whoops! :) I've always been one for bows, so I couldn't pass it up. It's soft, pink, and the perfect length. The sweet dress is also from my friend Megan's boutique, Ruby Cross, so I love that much more!
Also noteworthy are these amazing heels from Sole Society (my go-to store for pretty shoes!) I wore them to the workshop (and on date night!) as well, and they are SO comfortable. I'd been looking for months for the perfect pair of strapping heels/sandals that weren't wedges, so I was thrilled to find these! I love heels, but love heels that are comfortable even more, so these get a high score in my book.
I completed the look with a super inexpensive statement necklace from Target. Love these pretty, cheap (yep, I just said that) jewels!

I'm a girly-girl through and through, but you already knew that. What you might not know is my first blog friend turned real life friend, Megan, started her own online clothing boutique. I'm all about adding some color and pattern into my wardrobe, and RCB does just that.
What I love about this light and flowy, blush pink top is the scalloping detail. It's feminine and soft, while still simple. It's perfect for everyday wear, or I could dress it up by tucking it into a cute skirt and throwing on a pair of heels. The other day (as you can see from the pictures above), I wore the top while grabbing dessert and doing a little shopping with a friend. It was perfect!

It's a rare day to find me in a ponytail, but when I do wear one I always have a hard time doing "imperfect". Why, oh why, can I do a perfectly imperfect ponytail that looks perfectly effortless with just the right amount of hair coming out around my face, right before bedtime?! This will always baffle me. Am I the only one with this conundrum? Surely I am not.
In other news, it's been pouring cats and dogs here in the SF Bay Area for the last few days, so it's been a rain boot type of week. These Joules wellies are the cutest around. I mean, a bow in the back?! I can't stand it. Today is sunny, but still on the chilly side. {Side note: my boyfriend said I'm not allowed to say California is "chilly", as snow is still melting on the grounds of Michigan. That's fair, I guess ;) } I love this sweet je t'aime sweater from Talbots, of all places! I mean, that to me is shocking! I've never owned a single thing from there, but this sweater is so "me"! I guess I should have posted about it in February, but April will have to do.
I really shouldn't be complaining about it raining or being on the colder side, because California truly needs the rain. We're in a big 'ole drought, so every ounce of rain is needed! After going to school in Seattle, I should really, really not be talking about the rain. Ha ;) Hopefully these little April showers will bring some gorgeous May flowers. How's the weather in your city?

I always classify my style as feminine and easy. I don't like a lot of fuss. Anyone with me> One piece of statement jewelry is about all I can take, so a simple outfit that consists of jeans, a cute flowy top, booties and a staple leather jacket is a winner in my book. Looks like this are definitely my go-to uniform. I love the floral trim and back to this top and I also love that I can dress it up with heels and down with flats or riding boots. Floral and leather is a great combination-- it's girly, sweet and little bit edgy.

If there's ever a time to wear lace, or bows, or pink for days, it's this week! And hey-- an outfit with all three? Even better. Granted, I wear my pink/lilac colored jeans probably once a week, but this week it just seemed so much more appropriate, with Valentine's Day on Friday. I've always described my style as feminine and romantic, and I think this is the epitome of that combination. The lace and the bow on the sweater had me at hello. I bought this sweater on sale a few months ago, so it's no longer available, but very similar styles are available and they are on sale as well {links listed above!}
And now for some commentary on the last photo above with my sweet Hope girl. We take her to a park for a stroll once a week, so we took these pictures there and of course she had to jump in one of them. If you can believe it, this was her best picture. I figure this is a good outfit to wear for a casual Valentine's Day lunch or dinner out with friends or a special someone. Mine, however, will be spent in PJ's and Skyping with my man who lives across the country. I am SO thankful for Skype. What are your plans?

Last week I was in Michigan visiting my boyfriend, and I'm not sure about where you live, but Michigan is real, real cold. Like, my-eyes-water-when-I-walk-outside-cold. Being from California {where, just so you know, we're in a drought and it's been 70 degrees all through January…}, I had to buy a few new jackets, sweaters and miscellaneous snow gear to get me through the week and today I'm sharing my favorite items with you, incase you're in search of some warm items for arctic temperatures! In addition to these outfits, I also LOVE this coat I showed you last week.
My boyfriend is quickly learning about my job as a blogger, so he offered to take these pictures. Soon he'll be an expert photographer just like my dad, who takes most of my pictures you see here for fashion posts. The men in my life are really good sports ;)

My favorite look is probably the last one, as that coat is about 50% wool, so it really does keep me warm! Not pictured are the cuddle duds I have on UNDER my jeans, and boy are those things lifesavers. I've never worn a pair of them before my trips to Michigan, but I'm not sure how I would have survived without them now. The best things I purchased for this trip, though, were definitely my black Ugg gloves. They are lined with really warm fur and you can use your phone with them! I definitely recommend everyone who lives in freezing temps to get yourself a pair. They make great Valentine's gifts, too! I've learned if my hands and feet are cold, the rest of me will surely be cold, so the most important items are warm socks and toasty gloves. These definitely do the trick.
