Over the summers while I'm at home in the Bay Area, I have the pleasure of interning for Cristin of Simplified Bee. She takes me on client jobs, I draft floor plans for her, we go shopping and take fun trips to the SF flower mart. It's sort of a dream internship :) The last week of summer, we did a whole day of photoshoots, featuring many of her client rooms. I already showed off the pink and purple little girl's room that I did abstract art for, and today I'm showing you a client's living room that Cristin took from dark to modern and bright, sophisticated and cozy.
Custom sofa pillows in Martyn Lawrence Bullard’s Darya Ikat cotton/linen fabric in stone for Schumacher was the inspiration for the room’s black, white and gray color palette.
The client's husband grew up on the beaches of Southern California, so we included elements of the sea in the space. A series of coral prints by Kerri Shipp of Driftwood Interiors was selected, framed and hung above one of the sofas. It’s a simple, yet sophisticated look... Just want the family wanted! It's always so rewarding to arrive at a design that everyone loves, and that's precisely what Cristin did! Enjoy the Before & After:
* All the beautiful photos were taken by the lovely Summer, of Plum Lily Photography.
I think the coffee table is hands-down, my favorite coffee table in the world. The pattern is so awesome! What's your favorite part of the room?
Come back tomorrow for our Christmas Tree party. Be sure to link up your trees with Megan of Honey We're Home.
Have a great Monday! How was your weekend? I was knee-deep in so many school projects. I can't wait to share soon.
Love,
Love the coffee table!
ReplyDeleteI loved the big difference those botanical prints made on the room! Can I ask/do you know what paint color the room is done in?
ReplyDeleteThe difference is amazing, Michaela! I love the antlers and the golden deer on the side table.. I have no idea why I have a little obsession with this stuff :) Have a great day! Xo
ReplyDeleteI do love the coffee table!! And the antlers! Justin would approve. Haha!

ReplyDeleteCoffee table, for sure! Lovely space, my love! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed with how you preserved the "intent" of the room -- the colors, textures, feel ...
