{Blooms for the Home} Bouquet Recipe

If there's one thing that always makes me smile, it's beautiful flowers. I'm sure most of you can relate! While my grandma gifted me with all my decorating and design skills, it was my mom who gave me my love for flowers. For as long as I can remember, there's always been fresh flowers in our home, a pretty bouquet sitting on my dresser when I come home from college, and lovely blooms sent to me on my birthday. My mom has quite the knack for flower arranging, too!

When my good friend and amazing photographer, Christine, asked to do a little photo shoot, I was so excited. A striped dress, purple belt, spring-time wedges and beautiful flowers were enough to make my day. I picked all these flowers up at my local Whole Foods.  Here's a simple step-by-step to create a lovely bouquet. I always start with my main flower in the middle and group the accent flowers around it in layers.

* All images by Christine of A Quiet Determination. She's amazing, friends. Go say hello :)

Kale flowers and Lisianthus are no doubt two of my favorite flowers. Right up there with peonies, which I can't wait to get my hands on soon!

Are you as obsessed with flowers as I am?!
Happy Thursday!

  1. What a helpful little post! I used to think I had to keep bouquets arranged how they are, but not when Matt brings me flowers, I typically divide them so we can have some in several different rooms. I LOVE your hat :).

  12. So pretty. I love having fresh flowers in the house. Right now I have yellow lilies, white hyacinth, and some purple ones-for the life of me I am forgetting the name. Praying my peonies come back up this spring. We had to transplant them last year.

  17. How cute are you?!? These images are gorgeous, particularly that last one. Super helpful though - I've tried to make bouquets before and it was a bit of a trainwreck.
