Traditional Southern Living New Construction Client Reveal

A couple weeks ago I went to take photos of one of my interior design client's finished home. They were moving in a couple days after these pictures, so I wanted to show you the house before their furniture got unloaded. I actually didn't help with any furniture or accessory selection, as the couple is well-established and have mostly everything they need from their previous home. We started their new home design process last year and I was so thrilled to be able to work with them. This project got me so excited, because it wasn't the modern farmhouse style I have done many times here in Michigan. This is more of a traditional style with some rustic and southern-living-esque touches. It was such a joy to work with my client who had a very good idea of what she wanted style-wise, but just needed some guidance along the way. This is a true reflection of my client's style and I was honored to help bring their vision to life.
I love that while we were building them a new home, they didn't want it to feel brand new, but rather have some character and history throughout. I just know that their family heirloom pieces of furniture will help bring that story together even more!
Starting in the entry, you walk in and this is what you see right away:

The gathering room is a gorgeous space with taller ceilings, gorgeous beams to give it character, a traditional brick fireplace with functional yet beautiful builtins on either side. Their windows are some of my favorite things in their home! And their view is lovely!

Standing at the fireplace and look into the kitchen, this is what you see.

I'm flat-out in LOVE with their kitchen. The island color is just stunning and I love the cabinets creamy tone paired with the slightly rustic finish we went with. The countertops are one of the most beautiful I've ever seen! I know my client is going to have some sweet gatherings in here with plenty of space for their large family and delicious food she prepares for events.

This cozy dining space is so lovely as well. The doors to the right lead out to the screened in porch with pitched ceilings. I didn't get photos of it, but just know it's beautiful! ;)

This is the butler's pantry right off the kitchen. We did tons of shelving for pantry items, a sink, pockets for baskets down below and another wall of storage and countertops for her hosting dishes.

Down the hall is the den and they picked out some really cool rustic barn wood for a feature wall.

The main floor bathroom is so classic, I just love it! Look at those floors!

We had another tile picked out for the shower, but when we saw these larger gray/blue penny tiles, we knew we had to make the chance. So glad we did!

Forgive this photo for the bad lighting coming through the windows, but the laundry room is really neat so I had to show you. We went with navy cabinets in here and I love how it turned out.

This is the mudroom entry where my client is going to put a bench of some sort under the hooks.

On the main floor they have their master bedroom, which is so beautiful with the cathedral ceiling and beams to accent the height.

Here's the master bathroom:

One of my favorite parts of the entire home is the incredible staircase. I love that my client was bold enough to go with a classic pattern here and I think she'll be so happy with it down the line as it's not going to show hardly any stain or foot traffic!

In the lower level we have a walkout basement. A cute kitchenette is on one side and the other side will be the family room.

There are 3 bedrooms down here, but this is my favorite because we went bold with the paint in here! I think it really paid off.

This is one of the two bathrooms in the basement and I just love the wallpaper my client found!
 Another bedroom...
And the second bathroom on the lower level:

Everything turned out so beautiful and I'm so excited for this precious family to move in and begin life here!!
