2020 Christmas Tour

It seems like just a couple months ago we were taking down our 2019 Christmas tree, and here we are again showing you our 2020 Christmas decor. Normally I have this all up on the blog by the first week of December, but since we got Covid on Thanksgiving, I was very delayed. It's December 23rd and my post is going live...so better late than never, right?! ;)

Welcome to our living room for Christmas! We also decorated the kitchen and dining room, but I didn't have time to take photos. This year we went with a flocked faux tree from Walmart of all places and I couldn't be happier with it. It looks so nice and I, for one, adore flocked trees! My husband took some convincing, but he has since come around :)

We got the 6.5' tree because our basement has 7' ceilings, so we wanted to be able to alternate this tree from upstairs to basement each year. The flocking looks so good and with some fluffing when it came out of the box, I'm really impressed with this Walmart find (not sponsored!)

I went with a metallic and blue theme this year for both the ornaments and gift wrap. I love the icy look it gives! And it goes with our living room palette!

My little model ;)

I added some blue hued ribbon to our stockings to tie the blue in with the red stockings.

This velvet ribbon is my favorite!

I used the same faux greenery garland as last year and added some ornaments in spots and then wrapped fairy lights around it. I programmed them to come on every night at 5pm; it's so fun!

This is our front entry way right in the living room, so I added a simple gold wreath and called it good.

As always, our nativity scene is one of my favorite things. It's made from olive tree wood in Israel! I also love that it's wood, so it's not breakable for future kids.

I added one poinsettia on either side of the bookcases to bring some red in (by my husband's request!) and I love how they turned out.

Not necessarily Christmas decor, but I did get new pillow covers for the fall/winter months and I love them!

Our tree ribbon is also a velvet ribbon trimmed in gold and I'm in love with it!!

My mom got me this ornament last year since it was our first year in our first house and it's my favorite one!

Okay, so Lincoln had a little photoshoot ;)

I hope you have a Merry Christmas, however you're spending it this year!!

O Christmas Tree 2019

Oh, friends! I'm so excited to be here sharing our Christmas tree this year! We went to a sweet tree farm on Black Friday to get it and my husband picked it in about 4 minutes of being there. I had some anxiety on the way home that we didn't even look at other trees much, but once it got put in place I really loved it! It's the perfect size (ironically, it's smaller than our apartment trees because we don't have the best place for it here).

Here she is!

Lincoln looking thrilled that a tree from outside is now inside ;)

I ordered some matte navy ball ornaments to tie in the blue from around our house and I love them! I only got 12, I wish I got more! Maybe I'll add to the collection next year.

While I didn't win the flocking debate (my husband didn't grow up knowing what a flocked tree was so he didn't want one) I did stuff some flocked branches into our tree to give it a bit more of a "full look". If I had it my way, our whole tree would be flocked ;) Maybe next year...

I draped white wooden beads as garland around the tree and I think it's really cute! Usually I do ribbon, but I like switching things up from year to year.

I got this pretty garland from Hearth & Hand via Target and I love it! It has some blue berries in it to tie in with the blue colors we have throughout the house. I wrapped some twinkle lights (battery operated) around it and filled in some holes with real greenery and viola!

I'm a sucker for white roses! I just add some holiday greens this time a year and it's so festive.

There you have it!

2018 Christmas Home Tour

With Christmas just a couple days away, I thought it'd be fun to show you our decor around our apartment. It's really similar to previous years, because I try not to buy much new decor since we just have a small place, but I love our Christmas things so much!

When you come in our apartment, you walk straight upstairs and we have this little ledge by the staircase. I LOVE that I get to decorate this like a mantle, since we don't have one of those :)

A little rosemary Christmas tree and poinsettias on the ledge...

Still love my tree print from Lily & Val from last year. I have since filled the white frame with one of our family Christmas pictures. I love it!

I got these houses from Target last year and love how wintery they look (but really, they can be used all year round!)

Our bookshelf houses our manger scene which my friend got us as a wedding gift from Israel. I think it's my favorite Christmas decoration we own!

I found a print yesterday that says "a thrill of hope, a weary world rejoices!" so I switched this picture out with it.

Keeping the buffet simple with a poinsettia and a framed picture of one year when the snow fell in a perfect ribbon shape on the tree outside + some flowers.

Our tree, of course! (PS. our bottom strand of tree lights has gone out twice this year...it should be funny, but it's really frustrated me. So if it happens again I'm going to really *try* to laugh about it!)

In the bathroom I just switched out the paper in my lucite tray for some with gold trees, put out a holiday scented candle my friend gave me for my birthday and then some flowers with greenery.

I also decorated the shelf above the toilet with some mason jar snow globes I made YEARS ago as a DIY project (here) and then a couple other winter decorations.

Our bedroom has a plaid pillow and a PCB home Grateful Hearts Gather Here pillow. It's a simple touch of Christmas/winter, but I love it. I'm planning to get a mistletoe today at Trader Joe's to hang over our bed :)

We also have a pretty poinsettia on our dresser.

At night our little twinkle lights go on the Christmas tree and the bookshelf and it makes me so happy!

Hope you enjoyed this little tour of our home for the holidays!

I'm back in Michigan and will be catching up on some emails and work today and tomorrow, then taking most of next week off to spend with my husband and pup. What will you be up to?

xoxo
