3, 2, 1...
Just like that, 2012 is gone and there we sat, ushering in the new year. Not sure about you, but I love watching the ball drop every year {even though it does seem a little anticlimactic.} This year two of my best friends and I went out to fondue to celebrate one of my friend's birthdays and New Years! Chocolate fondue is my favorite, so naturally it was delicious. When we got back home, we grabbed some sparklers and played around in the front yard for a while. I think it made for some fun pictures. If you're wondering, it took us three tries to get the 2013 picture. Definitely worth it ;) What did you do?
I've been thinking of my New Years goals all week. It's daunting to slap a list of tons of things I want to work on this year, so I've decided to come up with an overarching motto I will try my hardest to live by throughout this year:
To live fully in my present season of life
Being intentional with my time, money, resources and relationships is so important to me this year. A few other goals for the year are the following:
- drink more water
- continue to exercise & be more active
- focus on my career, listening to where God wants me
- serve people more, love better
- send a friend a package "just because" once a month
- practice patience
- travel somewhere new
- stick to a budget {student loans here we come!}
- step out of my comfort zone
- be more adventurous with food
- trust in the Lord more {proverbs 3:5}
- remember to be thankful, always
That does it. Welcome 2013! I'm excited for all you may bring! Share a goal or two you have in the new year...I can't wait to read them.
Happy January 1st!
Love,
Hi Michaela:
ReplyDeleteI love your resolutions. Very inspiring. For me, One goal I want to have in my life is to enjoy the small everyday things of life and make it special. This is something I found in a blog called Paris in four months. Also, I want to dream many dreams about things I want to do, without forgetting to enjoy the small things.
Many blessings to you
Happy New Year, sweet friend!! These pictures are so fun, and I love the variety in your goals for this year! I've been working through Lara Casey's Making Things Happen steps to figure out my goals for this year and it's been so enlightening. Not quite finished yet, but I'm already feeling motivated and excited! P.S. Come back to Austin to fulfill your travel goal please! :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year MIchaela! Beautiful pictures. I too like to come up with either one word or and overall theme for the New Year. I think concentrating on one thing sets the tone for the year, and then everything else falls into place.
ReplyDeleteAmazing pictures!! Love the sparklers!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!!
The fact that the majority of your goals are to serve others is a testament to the type of wonderful lady you are. You parents should be so proud!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am going to drink more water too :)
ALL of those goals should be my own, too. So thankful for a friend like you who encourages me and challenges me. Maybe 2013 will be our year to meet??
ReplyDeleteThose pictures turned out perfect! I am not clothes shopping for all of 2013 and focusing on what I already have in my closet. Too many items I have only worn once or twice. Time to learn to cherish what I already have! Happy New Year :)
ReplyDeleteLove those pictures! Well I will be losing 10 pounds this next month by exercising more and eating healthier! That's my goal so far oh and pray more during the day!
ReplyDeleteThose are lovely goals! I definitely could use some of these as well including practicing patience and sticking to a budget... yeah... grad school loans are killer! Well girl, I started a new blog... I had a series of nasty comments and emails from a random person and decided it was time to start afresh. If you'd like to follow that one instead, here's the link: http://girlwithalatte.blogspot.com/. Hope you have a lovely rest of break! Enjoy every moment!
ReplyDeletehappy new year!! :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the 2013 picture! It looks AMAZING! Definitely worth all of the tries. You are so gorgeous and your goals reveal that you are just as gorgeous on the inside! Thanks for sharing!
