She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not: The Chronicles of Home

Hello friends! Today as I'm driving back to Northern California, I have a talented blog friend of mine here sharing her loves and love me nots.  Meet Jennifer from The Chronicles of Home
I fell in love with her after about five seconds of finding her blog and seeing all of her amazing DIYs, beautiful home and sweet personality. Jennifer is truly one of the most kind-hearted people in blogland. Pair that with her killer ability to make beautiful things, and you're sure to love her. Take it away, friend!

Hi there!  I'm Jennifer from The Chronicles of Home, where I share all the things that make up home to me.  Mostly a lot of furniture building and reupholstery, decorating around my house, and cooking up delicious and healthy meals...and a good dose of desserts that I wouldn't exactly categorize as "healthy."  But who needs labels?

I'm so flattered that Michaela, who I think is sweet and lovely and kind, asked me to be part of her series here!  I know envy is not a virtue, but how many of you wish you had a wig made out of her gorgeous hair??  C'mon, you know you do.

And now for some of my recent likes and not-so-muches...

1. Holding a little hand.
children holding hands

My daughters are 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 and lately I've been so aware of how fast they're getting big.  I love the feeling of a soft little hand holding mine and I will hold those little hands every last minute I can!

2. Fresh summer produce.
The ones I love the absolute most and could eat myself sick on are fresh garden tomatoes and local summer peaches.  Ethereally good.

3. Easy summer dressing.

I love easy summer dressing.  These are some of my favorites this year so far!

4. Leisurely morning coffee on my screened porch.
I love the summer break from the run-out-the-door routine and being able to sit down and drink my coffee and listen to outside sounds and breathe fresh air while my girls putter around with their cups of milk.  It's a long winter in Boston, where I live, and I soak up every possible moment I can out here on our screened porch in the warmer months.  Stop by my blog next week for some photos of how I've set it up this year.  You can also pop over to see how I made the herringbone table in this photo recently.

1. 5:30 a.m. wake up calls

Longer summer days are, for the most part, one of my favorite things.  Except that my 2 1/2 year old likes to wake up at 5:30 a.m.  And likes me to be awake with her.  I would much prefer to sleep at least until the time shown on the clock above!

2. People who don't say please, thank you, and I'm sorry.  I think a general rule of thumb should be if it's behavior you'd teach to a child, adults should use it too.

3. Multiple car repairs all at the same time.  Which we've had this month.  And it hurts.  Ouchhhhh.

Thank you again, Michaela, for having me here with you today!

Thanks for sharing, Jennifer! Those summer essentials are calling my name. I also have to agree about people minding their manners and being polite. We need more of those folks out there!

Go say hello to Jennifer at The Chronicles of Home today and be sure to take a peek at her herringbone coffee table. Which she made. And it's awesome. Told you she was great :)

Happy Wednesday! What are YOU loving this week?
xoxo

  1. I, too, hate the lil wake up calls that happen SO EARLY. We are doing the same thing here. My 3 year old is staying up later and later and still waking up at 6am on the dot. Who needs an alarm clock with him? ;) But, at least we can get a few things done before the rest of the house awakes, right. Oh, who am I kidding...I only get in my first cup of coffee! ;)

  2. Oh, early mornings in the summer groan! I just posted a photo on IG of my 1,2,3,4--yep, 4th coffee of the morning because of one of those! Love the clothes and the little hands. xo Kristin

  3. Ouch...5:30??? Unbeknownst to us, our neighbors decided this summer was a good time to add an addition onto the back of their home...the workers are out hammering away as soon as the sun comes up! UGH!!!

  5. Love Jennifer's blog! :) Local peaches and tomatoes are my favorite summer produce items and multiple car repairs are definitely my least favorite (we've had a lot lately too!)
