San Francisco Shop to Love: Baboo {& Giveaway!}

Happy Monday, friends! I love finding unique shops, especially shops that carry pretty interior decor! I feel like every time I find a new store in my local area, it's like finding a hidden gem. I'm so excited to introduce you to one of my favorite new stores in San Francisco called, Baboo. Here's a bit about the shop:

"BaBoo is a San Francisco based boutique that opened November 2013 by owner Galit Chay. This unique shopping experience is dedicated to international craftsmanship and design. Bringing these “off-the-beaten-path” objects to a local space, where both interior designers and shoppers can find those special pieces. The store will house many talented designers who are unique in their filed, yet current such as Gaga and Design, Tovi Farber, and Urbanoutlines."

The owner's pristine eye for detail is so apparent, I mean just take a peek at these photos!  You can tell how valued unique and handmade items are to Galit, and I just adore that. If you've been here reading my blog for any amount of time, you know I always encourage you and my personal clients to create a space that feels lived in and collected over time. Guess what? Baboo does just that! From breathtaking home decor like chairs, art and lighting, all the way to stunning jewelry, Baboo has it all.

You are all in luck today! The owner of this beautiful store, Galit, is giving away a yummy home fragrance and diffuser. Herve Gambs' beautiful take on home fragrance redefines the typical diffuser, with its stunning flower top. Herve Gambs is a Paris based perfumer who is modernizing the art of aroma through his inspiration of the natural. I'm not sure about you, but I could definitely use one of these lovelies in my own home!

Shop Favorites: One of my Go-To Resources As A Designer

Hey, friends! I consider it my duty, as a design blogger and interior designer, to help you find the best items to fill your home with, share my favorite online stores, tip you off about sales and inspire to create a home you love. In keeping with that mission, I'm sharing about one of my favorite stores today, Serena & Lily. I get emails from sweet girls and young women wondering where I source from and shop. While I can't answer all those emails, I will show you one of my go-to's today! I source from S&L for all my clients, because their products are of great quality and high style. Two of my favorite things. Their bedding is my absolute favorite. One of the many reasons I adore them is because of the classic and effortless style.

Serena & Lily is offering a great deal right now-- but quick! It ends today.

Here are a few of my very favorite items from the store:
bar cart / pouf / coral bedding / cream and blue rug / scallop pillows / coral pillow / alabaster ring table lamp / white mirror / bookcase / chair

And, just to be fair to a few of my other favorite online stores, here's a collection of what I'm loving currently. (And by loving, I mean coveting…because I'm on a spending freeze and not allowing myself to buy a single thing for two whole months! It's going well so far ;))

Let me know if you snag anything for yourself today!
Have a great Tuesday!

New Bar Cart / Kitchen Island

A funny thing happened the other day. I took my mom to a showroom to buy a sofa and we walked out with a new piece for our kitchen instead. Well, this certainly isn't a sofa! My dad was pretty surprised :)

We've been wanting some extra counter space and an area to place appetizers when we host family parties and get togethers. This butcher block island definitely fits the bill! It will sit on this wall off the breakfast nook and then we can pull it over to the kitchen if we need more prep area, etc.  It is doing wonders for the space. It's funny how you can leave a store with something so perfect for a space in your home, when you didn't even know needed anything there!

The red framed picture will be changing soon. I have these gorgeous herb prints coming in the mail and can't wait to frame them and get them in place. Operation update my parents house is moving right along :) And now for that sofa we still need...

What do you think?
Enjoy your day! I'm flying to Michigan today to visit my BFF. Hooray! Later this week I'll be showing you how to create the bouquet above, by only using grocery store blooms.

 Hope you had a lovely weekend, friends! I decided to link up with Jenni for her Blogtember series, sharing what I've been up to in my personal life lately!

Life has been moving at the speed of light, it seems, and I've been staying busy doing some freelance design work for two designers in my city, working with a few of my own clients, e-design clients, and putting finishing touches on my website! Here are a few of the things I've been doing as of late...

1. I had a delicious tea and cookie brunch with Caitlin last week.
2. Last Monday I accompanied Crystal on a Rue Magazine photo shoot at the SF Fairmont, shot by Emily Johnston. (My dress is from here!)
3. One of the amazing chandeliers in the penthouse suite at the Fairmont.
4. My mom, grandma, and two Aunt's took a day trip to Half Moon Bay yesterday. We indulged in dessert at the Ritz Carlton Hotel. SUCH a stunning view.
5. We love our new garden stool for our bathroom from Lulu & Georgia. I take a bath about 2 nights a week, and it's perfect to move near the tub and set my sleepy time tea on.
6. Hope tore her ACL a few months ago, but it has significantly repaired itself over the last few weeks. We had to keep her from jumping up on beds, the sofa, and couldn't even let the poor pup run. So sad! When I wasn't looking, she snuck up on my bed. I can't handle her cuteness.
7. Happy Fall, y'all! (Yep...I just said that:)) Our mantel is decorated and I can't wait to show it to you soon!

Follow me on Instagram for more of my life lately. And let me in on what you've been up to lately in the comments!

Happy Monday!

Favorite Things: Geometric Prints & Shapes

From top to bottom | mirror / pendant / pillow, lamp / sofa / side table, pillow/ rug / pillow

I'm definitely drawn to florals and feminine prints, don't get me wrong, but boy do I LOVE a good geometric pattern and shape. I've rounded up my latest geometrically shaped or patterned pieces for you to see today. Some noteworthy items:

- Lantern pendant {those criss-crosses are calling my name. This could go modern, or would be great paired with more eclectic furnishings!}
- Herringbone lamp {are you kidding me?! I'd put one in every room of my house if you let me!}
- Berry colored, greek key pillow cover {this is a given. Purple is my favorite :) }

My favorite rooms always have a combination of both floral/organic patterns with geometric prints. Do you lean more toward geometric or floral prints?

Happy Monday!

Real Talk: Collections

Happy Monday! I hope you had a lovely weekend. While I was working on cleaning out a few areas in my room, I rediscovered one of my favorite things.  All the cards I've ever received since my first birthday are stored away in a cabinet in my room. Love notes from family, encouragement from friends, high school notes I wasn't supposed to be writing, a letter from the pastor who married my mom and dad and dedicated me when I was 4, cards from my mom that she'd give me when I'd go on trips, funny notes my dad wrote me, the cards that he would send me with flowers on valentine's day.  So many precious memories and words written to me over the last 22 years. I just love knowing they're all in there!

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with all these cards, but I just can't seem to part with them! Some may call this hoarding, but I'll call it my card collection :) Reading through a few of these cards made me wonder if you collect something special?  In addition to all the cards, I also collect vintage tea cups. If you've been here for a while, you know tea is my favorite thing! I drink it every morning and sometimes at night. It actually got me through college, as it soothed my soul and reminded me of home. Oh, and kept me awake ;) When my great grandma passed away years ago, she left me three teacups, and since then, I've added a few more to my collection. They are so, so treasured!

So friends, do you hoard collect anything fun?!

Enjoy your day!

Inspiration Board for My Bedroom

one / two / three

Do you ever decorate rooms in your house only to walk by something one day and say to yourself "I think it's time for a change"?! Don't worry, so do I. Making little changes here and there is always fun {and keeps me busy} so my new project is creating an inspiration board for this wall in my room:

*image by Em the Gem for Michaela Noelle Designs

I love the painting I made here, and love the verse even more, but I think this is actually a great little spot to collect some of my favorite design inspirations, fabrics, quotes and more.  What do you think?! I'll find another spot for my painting.

The pictures above are the images I'll be using to help me create my own inspiration board. I'll definitely share it with you here when I'm done!

Do you have an inspiration board and if so, where does it hang?
Happy Tuesday! We're heading up to Tahoe today to enjoy the 4th of July with family. I can't wait!

Easter Buffet Decor

Easter is on Sunday and I'm excited. It's one of my favorite holidays, because Easter changed everything. It's the reason we're given breath, life, and a second chance through Christ. We always go to church in the morning, then come home for a big, tasty family dinner. We're hosting Easter dinner this year, so I've been helping get my parent's house ready. I styled the buffet using a birdcage, beautiful hand lettered print by Dear Lillie and some cute Easter egg candles {which sadly are the only Easter eggs in our house this year!} It's simple, but does the trick.

My mom has been working on sprucing up the yard for Spring, too, and it's just stunning. Our flowers are in full bloom just in time for Easter.  Here are some pictures!

*all images by Michaela Noelle Designs

Can you believe those flowers?! I just love that they are right outside my window, soaking up the spring sun. Thank you, God, for saturated hues of orange in our California Poppies!

Have you done anything to decorate for Easter/Spring?
Enjoy your long weekend!
