Our Holiday Home Tour

Can you believe it? We're just 10 days away from Christmas! I feel like it came so fast this year, but I probably always feel that way ;) Today I'm showing you around our home for the holidays! Welcome to our Christmas home tour...

Living Room

It was so fun to decorate our builtins this year!

You can see more of our tree here.

It was a little tricky getting the builtin styling right since the tree is in front of the left side. In order to balance out the weight of the tree on one side, I put 2 small yarn trees on the right of the TV and did our nativity scene on the right side since it's darker in color. On the right, I put my favorite decor in sight and still styled behind the tree in case you see it from a different angle.

I kept it fairly simple with a couple poinsettias, Christmas bowl full of candy (my grandma gives me a new piece of Spode Christmas serveware every year, so it's fun to display a couple items.

On the right side I did some of the white and glitter houses I had, the manger scene, a Christmas bell, poinsettia, and a bowl of pinecones I sprayed white a couple years ago.

I found these adorable trees at a local store and I just love them!

Our manger scene is made of olive tree wood and was bought in Israel by a friend of ours-- she gave it to us for our wedding gift and I absolutely love it!

Look at that face ;)

In the kitchen I changed up our chalkboard, hung a wreath on our vent hood and added a couple other touches here and there.

I love these rosemary trees from TJ's! I get one every year and put lights around it.

Our dining room buffet just got a hint of Christmas with a frame, plant and another Christmas bowl from my grandma.

I went wreath crazy this year ;) This hangs in our dining room window.

I put string lights on our headboard and some fresh greenery on our nightstands in the bedroom!

I hope you enjoyed the tour; thanks for stopping by! Tomorrow I leave for my parent's house in CA and I can't wait to spend some time with them for the holidays. There's no place like home :)

O Christmas Tree 2019

Oh, friends! I'm so excited to be here sharing our Christmas tree this year! We went to a sweet tree farm on Black Friday to get it and my husband picked it in about 4 minutes of being there. I had some anxiety on the way home that we didn't even look at other trees much, but once it got put in place I really loved it! It's the perfect size (ironically, it's smaller than our apartment trees because we don't have the best place for it here).

Here she is!

Lincoln looking thrilled that a tree from outside is now inside ;)

I ordered some matte navy ball ornaments to tie in the blue from around our house and I love them! I only got 12, I wish I got more! Maybe I'll add to the collection next year.

While I didn't win the flocking debate (my husband didn't grow up knowing what a flocked tree was so he didn't want one) I did stuff some flocked branches into our tree to give it a bit more of a "full look". If I had it my way, our whole tree would be flocked ;) Maybe next year...

I draped white wooden beads as garland around the tree and I think it's really cute! Usually I do ribbon, but I like switching things up from year to year.

I got this pretty garland from Hearth & Hand via Target and I love it! It has some blue berries in it to tie in with the blue colors we have throughout the house. I wrapped some twinkle lights (battery operated) around it and filled in some holes with real greenery and viola!

I'm a sucker for white roses! I just add some holiday greens this time a year and it's so festive.

There you have it!

Our 2018 Christmas Tree

This is always such a fun post to share!! Our Christmas tree is up, the halls have been decked and I'm so excited to share it. This year I wanted to switch things up a little and instead of wrapping ribbon around our tree, I decided to cut little ribbons and tie them onto random branches all over the tree. You can't see them super well in pictures, but in person it's really charming! Our Christmas tree topper is also really cute in person, but kind of disappears in these pictures...promise it's there though! ;) It's metal, so it blends into the wall color. Ha!
Without further adieu, our 2018 Christmas tree:

Do you spot a certain doodle above? ;)

There are the little ribbons I knotted on the tree. I love the vintage market vibe:

This tree has quite a few spots where we needed to hang some longer ornaments, so I did have to go out and buy a few more than what we already had. I found these pinecones and loved them!

One of my favorite ornaments my friend Ashley got me last year :)

Another favorite I picked up on last year's trip to Magnolia Market!

I got a couple presents wrapped for tonight's My Favorite Things Party! I will do a post on how to do one of these. This gold tree paper is SO cute!!

Simple greenery and roses sit on our coffee table. I love how the lights look behind it!

I also found some cute little jingle bells to top our gifts...just a fun touch!

I will always love our little red truck pillow :) The gingham pillows are from Hobby Lobby, of course 50% off!
Have you put your tree up yet? Do you do themes each year (my mom and I always did that-- for example, one year we'd do all colorful ball ornaments or all silver and gold...)
Hope you have a wonderful week!
