{Help Me Choose} Paint Color!

Alright, my fabric swatch that I'm basing my room around has arrived! As soon as it came in the mail, I headed to Home Depot and got 2 paint samples I thought would work for the room.

Here is my color inspiration board for the room, just in case you missed it last week:

I choose this lovely Mint Fretwork fabric by Caitlin Wilson Textiles to be my fabric inspiration for the room:
Here are my two paint sample colors up on the wall. I know it's a little hard to tell the "true" color because of the periwinkle color still on the wall behind it, but try your hardest to block it out :)

I have a direction I'm leaning, but want to get YOUR opinion first! Which paint color would you choose?? 1 or 2?

1. Is a bit more green and little darker than the second one.
2. Has a tiny bit more white/yellow to it.

So similar...yet oh so different, right?! hehe:)

  1. i love #1 but #2 would definitely be more of a 'neutral' background

  2. They are both great in their own way, so it totally depends what you want. If it were me, I'd go with 2 for a more subtle colour and then inject all my colour with fabric and accessories.

I so love your inspiration board!!

  3. I love Number 1 the best. Can't wait to see finished photos :)

  5. I'd do #2 for a more subtle background, then kill is with accessories that pop! Good luck, look about 50/50 at this point!

  6. Number 1 would be beautiful!

  7. Definitely loving number 1. It will be so calming!

  8. #1 is really similar to the paint color in my room at home and I LOVE it! :)

  9. I'm leaning towards number #2. It appears that it would give you more leeway for mixing up the accessories if you get bored with them. But #1 appears to be a fun, bright color and when you're studying in college that's the kind of color we sometimes need!

I'm looking forward to the reveal and anticipate a beautiful room!

  10. Definitely 2. Warmer. More Neutral. And that fabric kinda clashes with number 1.

  11. Leaning towards #2, however, I do like the previous suggestion of a light gray, similar to the background color in the inspiration pictures. The other colors really pop of it!

  12. I like #2, I think it will allow you to add more colorful accessories and change stuff around, than #1.

  13. I think #2.
#1 may limit your options for mixing greens

  14. I like number 1, but it would limit the use of other colour. I think number 2 would allow the fabric to be the more exciting feature by using interjections of colour!

  18. #2 for sure! much more neutral to be able to play with.

  19. 1 for sure, why scare to use color

  20. 1! I think 2 is too subtle- and I don't like the yellow-ish tone in it.

  21. Oooo this is hard! I love both colors, but I'm leaning more towards #1!

  22. Bah! Tough call girl, I don't think you can go wrong with either. My initial instinct was number one...but number 2 would allow for easy changeups in the future. Can't wait to see what you decide!

  23. I a NOT an expert! I would choice your color from either the rug or your inspiration piece (that may be where you got the colors-i should read) :) I have always matched the color exactly and then go all of the way to the top of that same paint fan and choose the lightest (or one of them) colors. This way your color actually matches. Again, you may of done this already. Mom always taught me to start with the rug and pick a color from it to "balance" the room. Or again, from your fabric. Good luck :)

  24. I like #2, I think it helps the fabric pop a bit off the background. Can't wait to see it all come together!

  25. #2 - I think it will allow everything else to really show! The inspiration board colors & fabrics are so pretty & girly - I really love it! Excited for the big reveal :)

  26. Is it more of a mint green or turquoise? Hmm...my opinion: #2. It's a a bit less "minty" and a bit more neutral (but not boring!), but it's YOUR room.

I like the idea of gray as well (super classy), as long as your room has enough light. Any crown moulding in the room to help the gray stand out?

You have an eye for these things, so I'm confident no matter what you choose, it's going to look great. :)

  27. Number 1. Arguably, number two would be more subtle and allow you to inject colour wih accesories, but I think number 1 would be beautiful!

  28. I actually think #1 is the prettiest, but #2 may go better with all of the other colors.

  29. I'm digging Number 1. It's still a light color, but I think it'll bring more to the space than Number 2.

  30. I say 2! I love neutral with popping colors and with 2 you can certainly do that! :)

  31. I would go with the yellowish white, so number 2.

  32. I say #1! You have such a fun color on the wall now, why not keep going with it?

    ReplyDelete
  33. I like one :) It's a little more daring :) And would look lovely with white bedding and accents

  34. Love that fabric! And I would go with #1. Can't wait to see how it all comes together!

  35. i'm leaning toward #1...love that color and it will brighten up your space so much!

can't wait to see the outcome!!
